As many people know Twilight is a very popular book and now, a movie. Many teenage girls and women have fallen in love with the series. Especially the teenagers. I think the Twilight series is very enjoyable to read but I don't really enjoy it as much as other people do. I just treat the series like any other book or series I would read, but there are other people out there who practically praise the series.
Twilight is about a human girl named Bella Swan who moves to Forks, Washington to live with her father. She meets a vampire named Edward Cullen. Edward changes her life. Bella eventually figures out Edward is a vampire and they fall in love. Many people are obsessed with the series just because Bella and Edward's relationship and people, especially girls would try to find boys just like Edward. A guy with looks that are a hundred times better than a movie star and is incredibly sweet. It will be kind of hard to find a boy so perfect like Edward. There are probably boys close to him but they aren't everywhere. I don't mean to spoil some girls dreams but why bother looking? Many girls obsess over Edward and couldn't care less about the plot.
There is another character, Jacob Black. He is Bella's best friend. In the second book, New Moon, Bella finds out he is a werewolf and is in a pack of werewolves. Edward and Jacob are enemies in the first couple of books but then they start to get along. The reason why they dislike each other dates back a long time ago when the vampires invaded the land where the Quileute tribe lived. Jacob and his friends and family are all Quileutes. This hatred between Edward and Jacob has started these two teams between the fans of Twilight, Team Edward and Team Jacob. If you loved Edward you would be on Team Edward and if you loved Jacob you were on Team Jacob.
Personally I am on Team Jacob. Edward annoys me in a lot of ways. He spends so much time with Bella, it's as if he's stalking her. Jacob is this very loving young person who loves cars and has a big sense of humor. I also love the werewolf pack because they treat each other as a sibling and act like one big family that go through conflicts.
Plus, I'm not to big of a fan of Bella either. Her personality is too depressing. I think she was too depressed in New Moon when Edward left her. I understand that Edward meant a lot to her and he just left her but Edward left her because he cared for her and thought it was better for her. So she shouldn't have been as depressed as she was.
Many of my friends have also discussed Stephenie Meyer, the woman who wrote the series, and the way she writes. One friend said that her style of writing for Bella is too depressing and that even Edward sounds more happier than her. Two of my friends said that Stephenie writes like a little child. Stephenie Meyer is working on a book titled “Midnight Sun” which will be Twilight in Edward's point of view. The original rough draft was available for fans to read on Stephenie Meyer's website. My friend read it and found at least ten grammar mistakes in one paragraph.
Twilight has been made into a movie and the other books will be made into a movie as well. The movie was a big hit. It seemed that people didn't really start reading and enjoying the series until the movie came out, because before the movie came out not many people knew what Twilight was.
I watched the movie myself. The movie felt like and hour instead of two hours. It seemed like they skipped most of the parts. The people who made the movie just rushed through the book. At first I really enjoyed the movie but then I started to dislike it. The actress who played Bella was too serious and didn't seem to enjoy playing Bella, basically the actress seemed bored and hardly never smiled in the movie, as if she was forced to play the role.
I used to enjoy the series very much, but now I don't like it as much. I know many people may disagree and I respect their opinion. I am not criticizing Stephenie Meyer, the characters in the book, or the movie and the people who helped produce the movie. I am just expressing my opinion
