See this world
We live
We breathe
We thrive

See this world
Conquer
Tear
Divide

Guarantee one day it will fall
Last night, fires were set to the city hall
While children ran through the streets
The government watched
No defeat

Words a disgrace
The world broke in place
Behind its somber face
The city was bombed
And the palace imploded
And all we could do
Was light the explosives

Falling to the ground it was built upon
Screaming, people cry along
They crash, crawl, tumble and fall
And then, in the distance, the earthquake’s mumble

Up came the lava
Spewing in the streets
Down came the lamps
That few hung by their hands and feet

Hours later, the air hung thin
Lungs stopped breathing and caved in
There was silence in the land
And nothing but smoke
This city built so high
Had crumbled and broke

Lifeless on the surface from which it grew
The city waits for me and you
Waits for the rebirth
The growth, spirit, love
But now it all floats all above

Really liked this. Good job!

Your hesitation suggests you are trying to protect my feelings. However, since I have none, I would prefer you to be honest. An artist's growth depends upon accurate feedback.
