I was reading Juniper's blog just now (things she wants to do before college), and one of the things she wrote was that she wanted to write 100 reviews in 15 days. That got me to thinking: What would happen if YWS had a National Review Writing Month, instead of NaNoWriMo or NaPoWriMo? Would anyone do this? I guess the point would be to write at least one review every day for a month. (or more, of course!) I think that would be an awesome way to give people's works the attention they deserve, while simultaneously improving the quality of our own critiques. I know that sometimes it's hard to dredge up enough inspiration to write a half-decent review, but maybe the knowledge that many others were doing the same would give us the incentive we needed. What do you think? Would you do this? Can you think of any pros or cons?

You know, I'm almost surprised no one has thought of this before. I think that's an awesome idea! I would definitely do this as an official site event, and I think it would be very motivational to other members as well (the more publicity it gets the better!!).

Hm, sounds cool, but you couldn't put in November, because of the actual NaNoWriMo

That is really cool. ^^ You could have it in the summer holidays so people have more time to do it.

And summer tends to be a down-time for good critiques.

This is indeed a great idea!

Sounds like a brilliant idea, but you'd have to clarify "review" to make sure everyone's defining "review" in the same way here, so there aren't some short and some long with everyone claiming the same achievement. At least, I think it'd be important to do that. ^^

If I'm correct, summer time varies from one hemisphere to another.

But! We've done events kind of like these. None of them were official NaRevWriMo, but we've had "do 100 reviews in [two weeks]" kind of deals. We could definitely do something!

Maybe creating a group for it would be best?
