This is a little random, but:
did you mean published as in by a company, or on this website published?
Welcome, by the way.
And let me say what I usually do about these blurbs: it was good writing; but It's hard to get a feel of the story unless it's a little more fleshed out. The part about escaping into books was touching; and you intrigued me enough that I want to know more about the character; but your story can't possibly be finished.

Hei!

I have to agree with epressoftheuniverse on the last part. It can't be finished?
I wanna know more about this girl and her twin, How her upbringing has been, why she can't listen to music anymore, who is "he". This has amazing potential Bluepetra, and you write very well! Please post more and continue if you find the thread again =)

To sum up: Very well written but leaves us clueless:P

Love, Liz

The story is very interesting and makes me think that "he" is a past-boyfriend, but the story isn't near done, so it is confusing.
I really like the way ou put in the simile, it gives you a feel of how she is treated instead of tons of exposition.
as if I were a glass vase on the verge of shattering into a million pieces

I really hope you keep going with the story, pm me when you do.
oh yeah- welcome, yada yada yada. :smt003

What I meant by fleshed out is.... I need more words. Sometimes a short blurb of a story can be just as daunting as a very, very long one (as I like to say) because you're not exactly sure what to think of it just yet.
So basically, I'm anxiously awaiting the rest!

This is a good start to something; got a lot of potential. Like the people before me, I'm wondering who 'he' is, why she can't listen to music, more on her sister. Ya know.
One thing that struck me was that our MC doesn't use contractions. It's all 'could not' or 'would not', which doesn't strike me as very first person. Just an opinion.
I like some of the development on the MC; sibling rivalry (feelings of unsaid jealousy about more talented sibling), the becoming a bibliophile and writer, the 'dreamy' one.

So, continue this. I'd like to see a little more.
This guy is so evil you could put him in between two slices of bread and call him an evil sandwich.

Coming at you like a jetpack Shakespeare.

Some portions were heart warming like, your comparison with a vase. That part was touching and it revealed your personal situation during your child hood.

The story could have been better, if you would have included some twists and surprises. All in all, a good effort.

I hope my first posted story will be as good as this! I think your use of 'he' was great because when you say that it intrigues the reader and makes them think that whoever 'he' is, the fact that he was mentioned so early on means that he must be quite an important character and so it makes the reader want to know who 'he' is and what happened between them. What I also love is the fact that your character seems really believable, all the emotions and feelings you described were, in my opinion, spot on. I'm really looking forward to reading the next chapters x
