~Chapter 2~
Jayne rushed in the hallway with her books so she wouldn’t be late for class. When she turned the corner of the hallway she bumped into someone with her books dropping every where.
"Watch it!" The person said walking away.
Jayne frowned and looked the person’s way. It was Brett. She rolled her eyes and dropped down and picked up her books, "Now I’m really going to be late." She said running to her classroom. She got to the room and sat down quietly so she wouldn’t disturb the class.
"Glad to see you here Jayne." Mr. Downy said turning to face her, "I’m hoping this won’t happen regularly."
"It won’t sir." She said quietly. She looked around and saw that everybody was looking at her. She looked down and her face turned red. She got out her books and started writing down the notes the teacher was giving them.
"I would like to talk to you after class, Jayne," Mr. Downy said turning around looking at Jayne, "Is that alright?"
"Yes, that's fine Mr. Downy." Jayne said.
"Good." Mr. Downy said turning back around and finishing the notes. After class was done and everybody was filing out of the classroom Jayne got up and went to Mr. Downy's desk. "Jayne." Mr. Downy said fiddling around with some papers on his desk, "I would like to talk to you about something. And you probably already know what I'm talking about."
Jayne stood there and sighed, "Yes, I think I do," She said, "And I'm really sorry and I know it won't happen again."
"Whoa--wait. What are you talking about?" Mr. Downy said looking at Jayne strangely, "What are you sorry about? I'm talking about your grades! Jayne, your grades are fantastic! You have all A+'s. You have one of the highest rankings in your class."
"I already knew about that sir," Jayne said blushing slightly, "You keep reminding me."
"Well, yes I do. But what I'm trying to say is that I'm promoting you to graduate early and to provide you with work at a Veterinarian Office." Mr. Downy said looking at her and smiling, "So, what do you say?"
Jayne stood there shocked trying to think straight, "Um...I don't know, Mr. Downy."
"You don't know?" Mr. Downy said confused, "But Jayne, this is the best offer you can get! I don't see how you would not want to."
"I know, I know. But I like school. I like learning more about becoming a Vet. I really enjoy it. And I want to graduate with all the people that I know and am around," Jayne said standing there, "It's hard to explain, but I won't say no yet. I'll think it over and decide what I want to do. I can let you know in a few days. Is that alright?"
"Well, sure Jayne if that's what you want," Mr. Downy said still confused, "Well, I should let you go now so you're not late for your next class."
"Yes, Mr. Downy," Jayne said backing away, "And thank you very much for this offer."
"You're welcome Jayne," Mr. Downy said smiling, "See you Monday."
"Yup." Jayne said leaving the classroom and heading to her next class.

"Fantastic Macey!" Mrs. Bugalo said smiling, "Let's do it again!"
"Alright Mrs. Bugalo." Macey said smiling heading off the stage in the back to do the scene again.
"Hey Macey!"
Macey turned around and saw Jon running toward her.
"Good job on the acting!" He said smiling.
"Oh, thanks Jon!" Macey said, "You weren't too bad yourself."
"Oh, well thank you." He said in a gentleman voice and bowing.
Macey laughed and headed toward the make-up room, "I heard that you are starting a club for Shakespeare."
"Yeah, I am," Jon said walking beside her, "Do you want to join?"
"When and where?" Macey asked putting powder on her face.
"In the theatre on Wednesdays at around 4:30 p.m." Jon said.
"Sure, I can make that," Macey said, "Does it start next Wednesday?"
"Yup, it sure does!" Jon said heading out of the make-up room, "You ready to practice some more?"
"Yeah, I'll be right there." Macey said smiling putting the make-up away.
"Alright." Jon said leaving the room. Macey looked in the mirror once more and headed to the stage.
"Are you ready Macey?" Mrs. Bugalo asked.
"Yes, I’m ready." Macey said getting in her position.
"Alright, now start from the beginning of the scene." Mrs. Bugalo said sitting down. Macey started acting out her scene from My Fair Lady. Jon was standing on the side of the stage and she saw from the corner of her eye that he was staring at her the whole time. She ignored it and continued on.
"Good job everyone!" Mrs. Bugalo said after they were done, "You may all go and get changed and you can go to your next class." Everyone left the stage and headed to the back to get changed. After Macey was changed she started to head to her next class when Jon came up to her.
"Hey, Macey." Jon said walking beside her.
"Hi, Jon." Macey said walking faster.
"Um…I was wondering…" Jon said hesitating, "If you wanted to go out sometime…this weekend?"
"Oh, well…I can’t." Macey said stopping in front of her classroom door.
"Oh, why not?" He asked looking disappointed.
"I have…or my family is coming up this weekend." Macey said relieved she didn’t have to lie.
"Oh, I see. Well, what about next Saturday?" Jon asked looking hopeful.
"Um...I don't know. I'll have to think about it." Macey said about to head into the classroom, "Is it okay if I let you know on Monday?"
"Sure!" Jon said smiling walking away from her, "I'll see you Monday then!"
"Yup, bye." Macey said walking into the classroom glad he was gone.

"Hello, Law Office of Springdale. This is Alison." Alison said into the phone writing notes down on a paper, "Okay, thank you. Bye." She hung up the phone and finished writing down the notes. She picked up the phone again and dialed a number and after a few moments someone answered, "Hi Mr. Len, someone will be coming to see you tomorrow at around 2:30 p.m. Is that alright?" She asked, "Yes. Alright Mr. Len. Bye." She hung up the phone and wrote more notes down. She put the pen down and started typing on the computer. After a few moments Mr. Len came out of his office and came up to Alison's desk.
"Ms. Emerson, I was wondering if you have those papers done that I asked you to do yesterday?" Mr. Len asked giving a smile.
"Yes, Mr. Len. They're right here." Alison said grabbing the papers and handing them to him.
"Thank you, Ms. Emerson," He said still standing there, "Say, isn't your family coming this weekend?"
"Yes, they are." Alison said, "I'm very excited."
"That's nice. How many people did you say you have in your family again?" He asked.
"I have eight. Three other sisters, my brother and his wife. And then of course my parents." Alison said.
"Wow, that's a lot of people. Where do they all live?" He asked.
"Well actually my sisters and I live together in a house. My brother and his wife live in St. John's and my parents live in Gander." Alison said confused that he was still talking to her especially about her family.
"Very nice. So, do you see each other a lot?" He asked looking interested.
"Well, when we can. We just take turns going to everybody's place every once and a while." She said.
"Oh yeah. When was the last time you guy's got together?" He asked.
"Well actually it's been about 4 months." She said giving a little laugh.
"Really? Why so long?" He asked.
"Because we've all been really busy and haven't really got the time. So tonight we're actually having a get together with my family and our friends at my house." She said giving a smile, "So, I've been pretty busy and stuff getting our house cleaned up."
"That's pretty exciting," He said smiling, "I wish that I could have something like that. My family doesn't really talk to me much anymore."
"Why is that?" Alison asked frowning.
"Well, it's kind of a long story and I'd rather not talk about it." He said about to leave.
"I'm sorry..." Alison said looking down. It was quiet for a few moments and then Ali thought of something and said, "Hey, Mr. Len," He turned around and looked at her, "I was wondering if you would like to come to our get together?"
"Oh, no. I don't want to get in the way." He said giving a little smile, "But thanks."
"No, really. It will be fine. My family won't mind it at all. In fact they would love it if I brought you." Ali said smiling.
"Well, I dunno..." He said looking away, "I guess I could come. I don't have anything else to do tonight."
"Great! You can come around 7:30 then." Ali said smiling.
"Alright," Mr. Len said smiling, "Thanks, Ms. Emerson."
"You can call me Alison if you want." Ali said looking at him.
"Um, alright," He said slightly blushing, "You can call me Ben then."
Ali gave a little laugh and nodded, "Alright, Ben. I guess I better get back to work."
"Yeah, you should do that." Ben said giving a laugh, "I'll see you tonight then around 7:30."
"Okay." Ali said turning back to her computer and starting to type again. Ben walked to his office and closed the door. Ali turned her eyes toward his office and gave a little smile.

"Alright kids start cleaning up! It's snack time!" Alexis said picking up toys and putting it in the toy box. Kids started running around everywhere trying to clean up so they could get their snack. Alexis went over to the kitchen and grabbed the cheese and crackers from the counter. She looked from the window to make sure the kids were cleaning up and saw that they were done and brought out the snacks. The kids came running up to get their snack first and were trampling over Alex. She raised up the snacks so the kids wouldn't knock it down all over the floor.
"You guys! Go sit down at the table or else I won't give you it to you." Alex yelled over all the screaming kids. All the kids rushed to the table and sat down. She walked to the table and gave each kid crackers and cheese. When she was done she grabbed some herself and sat down. After everyone was done eating she got up and cleaned up the tables.
"Alright, you guys can go outside now." Alex said. The kids got up and ran outside the door to the playground. Alex went outside with them and sat down on the bench. She sat there watching them when Jessica came up to her, "Alexis, can I tell you a secret?"
"Sure hun. What is it?" Alex said running her hand over the girls head.
"Um...well...I have a crush on someone..." She said blushing.
"You do?" Alex said giving a little smile, "Who?"
"Will you promise not to tell anyone?" Jessica asked looking at her.
"I promise." Alex said.
"Pinky swear?" Jessica asked.
"Pinky swear." Alex said holding out her pinky. Jessica held out her little pinky and wrapped it around Alex's.
She went up to Alex's ear and whispered, "I like...Ryan."
"Ryan?" Alex whispered, "Does he know you like him?"
"No!" Jessica gasped, "I can't tell him!"
"Why not?" Alex asked frowning.
"Because then it wouldn't be a secret anymore silly!" Jessica said putting her hands on her hips.
"Well, no..." Alex said trying hard not to laugh, " But don't you want him to know?"
"I dunno yet," Jessica said scratching her head, "Do you think I should?"
"Of course you should!" Alex said.
"You really think so?" Jessica asked.
"Well sure! Because what if he likes you?" Alex asked giving a smile.
"Does he?" Jessica asked wide eyed.
"I dunno..." Alex said, "You have to find that out for yourself."
"But how?" She asked.
"Go up to him and ask." Alex said getting amused.
"Should I?" She asked looking at her.
"Sure! Why not?" Alex said giving a laugh, "And if he says he does then tell him that you like him."
"But what if he doesn't?" Jessica said looking sad.
"Then ask him to at least be friends," Alex said rubbing her hair, "But you should tell him because it's always good to let your feelings out."
"It is?" Jessica asked.
"Yes, because if you don't tell him, what if he does like you but he was too scared to tell you? Then none of you could've known you liked each other and then everything would be ruined right?" Alex said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right." Jessica said giving a smile, "Should I tell him right now?"
"Yes." Alex said smiling.
"Alright, here it goes!" Jessica said turning around and walking toward the boy. Alex sat there watching and smiling. From the distance she could see Jessica talking to him. After a few more moments Jessica came running up to Alex.
"Alexis!" Jessica said trying to catch her breath, "He said that he doesn't know if he likes me or not but he said that he wants to be friends!"
"I'm glad that you guy's are going to be friends." Alex asked giving a smile.
"Me too because then maybe he'll learn to like me." Jessica said.
"Yeah, you’re right. You never know." Alex said laughing.
"Thank you for helping me! I don't know what I'd do without you!" Jessica said giving her a hug.
"Oh, you're welcome." Alex said giving a hug back.
"Well, I better go and see my friend." Jessica said running back to him. Alex laughed and went inside the house.
We are all fools in love.

You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.
