I got this idea from a book called the Runes of Elfland written by Ari Berk {and awesomely illustrated by Brian Froud}, which is a really interesting book, all things considered. There's going to be lots storybook ideas, so be prepared!>D Okay, anyway, here's how it goes:

Rules

There are 22 parts: 5 human, 15 animal, and 2 fairy. The first people to sign up get first picks, so it's survival of the fittest!

No godlike characters
No killing other characters no matter how long they've been gone.
No more than one character per person, unless there aren't enough people who wish to participate, in which case I'll assign parts. {Muahahahahaaa!!! :twisted: }
Characters must be realistic {names INCLUDED!}, with the exception of the animal parts. Animals can talk, but that's the limit to their unreal-ism.
You decide your characters, their names, personality, age, abilities, appearance, and history. But like I said, no godlike characters. Got it?

Also, if you want a part, but there are none left, PM me and I'll see what I can do. :wink: I'll figure something out!

Plot

A girl disobeys her parents and goes playing out in the woods. She gets lost, and while trying to find a way home meets up with all kinds of animals, before finally coming to the edge of Elfland and meeting The Birch Lady and her daughter. You tell what happens during the whole story, it just has to follow this simple *beginning* plot. 8)

It is mentioned in the famous collection of Arabic tales, The Thousand and One Nights, and by the Venetian traveler Marco Polo, who referred to it in describing Madagascar and other islands off the coast of eastern Africa. According to Marco Polo, Kublai Khan inquired in those parts about the roc and was brought what was claimed to be a roc's feather, which may really have been a Raphia palm frond." - As said from Dictionary.com

^Thought you might want to know.^ :smt109

PM me if you have any questions or you want a part when all parts have been taken. {Psst! I'm open for any suggestions!}

Well, guess I'll see you guys around! =3

I'm doing my own storybook! Hahahaaa!!!

{Sorry guys, don't know why I thought that was funny}

So, here I am! I beat you all to it! {Muahahahahaaaa!!! :twisted: } {Man I really like doin' that, don't I? :roll: }:

Character: Roc
Name: Cleo
Age: 250 yrs old
Abilities: Super strength & sight, can breathe fire {is vulnerable near water & dragons}
Appearance: A wingspan of 25 miles, height of 250 yards, brown feathers, gold talons, looks kind of like some type of ginormous falcon. (:
History: Steals precious things {only from grave sites}; likes to tell riddles, and has trapped many an unwarry traveler in its clutches with at good rhyme {she always lets them go, don't worry: she hates the taste of humans}; kidnapped Sinbad when 25 yrs old, though she didn't to eat him. Actually she did it so that Sinbad could babysit her hatchlings. Not so bad, right?
Personality: Wise and ancient, seemingly cruel at times, though actually that's all a big misunderstanding by whoever's saying so, because she's really quite nice: brave, honest, loyal, wise, and clever, but she can be a bit tricky when she wants to be! ^^

I'm mighty proud of myself! ^_^ <[Hehe!]

Cleo soared up into the sky. She loved the feel of the wind in her wings. It made her feel so alive.
"Huh...?" She muttered. She had heard something. It had sounded like a human girl's voice. What would a little girl be doing in a place like this? Cleo wondered. I guess I'll go find out.
And with that, she soared toward the laughter emanating from the forest below her, the sound echoing off the mountains surrounding the valley where Cleo lived.

If you want, you can join my storybook ^^
You cannot dream yourself into a character; you must hammer and forge yourself into one.

The writer, when he is also an artist, is someone who admits what others don't dare reveal.

I'll join! =)

Character: Girl

Name: Winter

Age: 15

Abilities: Can use a bow and arrow, a knife, and a sword. She can wield water magic, but is incapable of touching fire without sustaining extreme damage to herself, even if it would normally only give a little burn to someone else.

Appearance: Silvery, white hair, blue-gray eyes, a willowy figure, always wears a long-sleeved shirt, a pair of white-ish jeans {slightly ripped} and a weapon of some type {preferably a knife or bow & arrow}

History: Lost her mother at birth, and her sister was forced to raise her by herself at the age of 13 since their father ran away from them when their mother died. Winter usually does most of the hunting/man-working-jobs, while her sister Sakyra does the housework.

Personality: Quiet, thoughtful, and cautious, she is afraid to get close to other people but once she does she is really friendly and very reliable. She always pays back her depts, even little ones that normally seem insignificant, so she is quite liked by those who know her.

Isn't it funny how day by day nothing changes but when you look back, everything's different?
