The epilogue! At last! The story is being wrapped up!
But I must offer a thousand apologies for the not so desirable ending.
However, I'd like to leave it at that, to make room for a sequel.
Happy reading and thanks to all my supporters/helpers!
Especially Cat_910! And even Clup91 & *writewatiwant*!
A thousand apologies for this 999 words chapter XD

Once again, Miranda did everything for us, getting our ‘prom’ dresses, applying on the makeup and planning the party. It was supposed to be a “Prom cum party cum happy-belated-birthday-Liz cum congrats-on-winning-the-state-football-championship” celebration.

My hair was once more let down and curled elegantly, though Miranda had made a small bun on the top of my head and fitted a tiara with it. My dress was white, with spaghetti straps, very light blue lace, a slit up to my thigh on my right and had a short train behind me.

“Miranda,” I growled, as she handed me a bouquet of white tulips. “Was it your intention to dress me up like a bride?”

“Whatever made you say that?” Miranda feigned nonchalance. “You look absolutely beautiful and Alex is going to love you, not that he doesn’t love you already. But you get what I mean.”

“I can do without the flowers. You have it.” I thrust it to her.

“Just bring it, Liz. I ordered it especially for you. Besides, it would clash with my dress.”

I wasn’t the kind of girl who need fussed over what shade matched with what hue, but she was right. In stark contrast with her tiny tube top dress, or whatever she called her strapless dress, black beaded bracelet, and black high heels, white was too extreme out of all the black she wore. The only accessory or clothing she wore that wasn’t black, was the crystal pendant I had gotten her for her birthday. She had replaced the silver chain with black string. I was wearing the soccer ball necklace Sean and she had bought me and the bracelet the footballers had given me.

“Humph. At least this time you let me wear shoes that didn’t require me to balance my weight on two thin pieces of sticks.”

“Yup. So be grateful I made you wear my white ballet shoes. For your information, they are called heels, not sticks.”

Being the only girls in the party, Miranda and I were the ‘life’ of the party and the boys fixed their attentions on us. I couldn’t help giggling when I saw Alex gape at my outfit, his jaw dropping to the floor.

They had managed to transform our lounge into a prom room. Banners, streamers, music, lights, food and drinks, everything a prom included. The lounge was barely recognizable. I complimented them on a good job. As forecasted, the footballers forced me to dance at least one fast dance with each of them, while I reserved the slow dances for Alex. While the guys flirted with me in a joking manner, I could see from the corner of my eye, Alex hovering nearby protectively, even jealously. I had to admit, it was quite amusing when this strange fire in his eyes would suddenly appear when any actions or words made to me we deemed inappropriate by him, almost murderous a look.

At one point the boys thought it funny to see which all-male pair could act like a couple the best. Miranda, Sean, Alex and I were the judges and we snickered and teased the guys as they slowed danced for us, acting all lovey-dovey at each other. It was all very disturbing and strangely, quite entertaining. Daniel and Jackson won hands down. Their impression of a prom couple had such an uncanny resemblance to the real thing, you might have thought that they had actually done it several times before.

When asked how he felt on winning most convincing all-male couple, Daniel promptly replied, smirking, “Really gay.” making a pun out of the word ‘gay’.

Alex and I had managed to snatch a private moment together, outside the lounge, on a swing in the gardens.

“So when did you first start to like me?” I questioned him.

“Ever since we first met. You were most gorgeous creature I had ever laid my eyes upon.”

I snorted. “It would have been a very convincing lie if it wasn’t so preposterous.”

“I’m not lying, Liz. That’s what you are, in the eyes of Alex Taylor; perfect.” Grinning lopsidedly, he lovingly caressed my face, making me feel all warm inside.

I blushed and kept quiet.

“So when did you first start to like me?” He counter questioned.

“Hmm …well, I acknowledged my feelings right after we won the finals. But, I guess I’ve liked you all along. It’s just that probably some part of me didn’t want to admit it, and I concentrated on disliking you.”

“Huh. Interesting.”

I played with the rose corsage he had given me for ‘prom’, stroking the petals. Casually, I commented, “I don’t think I could be happier than I am now.” I had a wonderful boyfriend, a win in the state championship, a promotion to vice-captain of the football team and satisfactory grades. We had been given our report cards yesterday. Alex had one more ‘A’ than I. Darn it.

“Yeah.” Alex sighed contentedly, closing his eyes and fiddling with strands of my hair as I placed my head on his shoulder, wrapping my arms around him. Abruptly, he bent down and planted his lips firmly on mine and pouted adorably when I had to pull away for air.

BLEEP BLEEP …BLEEP BLEEP!!! Alex’s phone rang, vibrating in his pocket, the light flashing through the black of his tuxedo pants.

He looked at the caller identification on the screen, and I noticed gleefully that the background was a picture of him and me. “What’s mom calling me for?” He mumbled, answering the phone.

“Hello?” I watched as his confusion turned into shock, that was not necessarily unpleasant, and the phone slipped out of his now empty hand, landing on the soft grass.

“What? Did something bad happen?” I asked anxiously.

“No.” He whispered, voice barely audible that I had to strain my ears to catch what he said, his eyes staring off in the direction of the gazebo ahead of us, but not really seeing anything.

“Bradley has woken up.”

WOW!!! OMG!!! *too exited, heart beating too fast*
I think the ending was great! it surely does make room for a sequel! OMG!
The ending did not suck! it was a little vague, but I liked it not being the normal happy ever after ending.
I didn't find any grammar errors, neither I would change a thing.
*huge smile, people looking at me strangely by the excess of happiness*
Ah! I'm so happy! Sorry for my reaction....
Well it was a great story! You have a huge fan write here! By the way, thanks for mentioning me...

Wow, what a great end. I like how that tied it up, Bradley now becoming a real centre piece of the epilogue.
The ending conversation was good too, as it seems realistic of them to do so. :)
Not that many mistakes n shiz, just look over it and edit, s'not much at all.
I loved this story, and to be honest, I came home today all excited to read it when I got to the computer.
Nobody disturbs my Playing The Field time!!! >.<
Fabulous X

YES!! *punches her fist in the air* Yes, yes, YES!! :D :D :D
Here are the good things. I saw no errors. I told you that you wouldn't disappoint me. There is going to be a sequel! :D And more, but it would take all day to say them all. :D
Now, only two bad things. One, we have to wait a while to see what happens. Two, I didn't get to be the first to read it :( Oh, well. It was good! :D
Thanks for mentioning me, and see you seen. Keep writing! :D
(when I say soon, I mean in the next 24 hours. Haha)

Haha, okay, I shall put a bio of Bradley here! :)
Consider it a sneak preview, I guess!
----------
Name: Bradley Taylor
Relation: Alex Taylor's cousin, Bradley's father is Alex's father's older brother.
Age: 17 in this story, a junior, same age as Alex and Liz, but the next story is set in their senior year, so he'll be 18.
Birthday: 14 March
Club: Soccer, Co-captain of Everfield Soccer Team
Academics: In the honour roll
History: Uhh... I can't remember precisely what I wrote about what happened,
So read the later part of chapter 4. The end of this story shows Bradley awakening from his coma after a year or so. He fell into the coma while he was a sophomore, so he's missed out entirely on his junior year. Yup, he's one talented dude. Honour roll, Co-captain of the soccer team, and good looking to boot!
Appearance: Like Alex, they both have the same green eyes from their father, but Alex gets his brown hair from his mom, and Bradley gets his blonde hair from his mom. He's a few centimetres taller than Alex, but less muscular and more lanky. After all, he's been in a coma for over a year and he didn't train!

*stares in awe at the computer*

AWWWWW!! Thank you! I am so deeply honored.

Oh, now I am scared what you are going to write next for the sequel. This always happens with good books I read. Like the Percy Jackson series. The next one won't come out until probably at least half a year. AND THEY ARE SO GOOD! :D
I am not a patient person. This does not mean rush Meep:). I am just telling you that I am. Rushing what you write is not a good idea. Keep on writing though! :D

Haha, yup.
No rushing for me.
Or else it will take out the fun in writing and make it seem more like a chore,
Which would stink, because the story will lack flavour :)
More than half a year, I think XD
I'm working the other story still!
We'll just have to see how it goes.

And it will be quite some time before I start on the sequel...
So,... I'm sorry.
You can check out the one I'm working on, if you want.
It's called 'Blind', still in this forum.
