Life,
a strange thing.
Many people think,
what is it, exactly?
Tragedy strikes,
crying people all over.
Is that what life is?
Grief and trouble?
Daggers and guns,
stabs and kills.
Is that what life is?
Anger that overwhelms?
Projects and essays,
books galore.
Is that what life is?
Knowledge that we store?
Wishes on stars in night skies,
dreams of young and old.
Is that what life is?
Hopes spoken and untold?
Colors of the rainbow,
bright and darks.
Is that what life is?
Seeing of all that larks?
Long hugs and sweet kisses,
commitments made to be together.
Is that what life is?
A love that needs no cure?
Breathing in and out,
heart pounding every minute.
Is that what life is?
Living just to live it?
Pain and sickness,
cures and interventions.
Is that what life is?
To avoid death as it creeps?
To breathe, to learn,
to hope, to see.
To feel love and agony,
to avoid death, or be alive just to be.
Whatever life may be,
It will always be full of mysteries.
Remember one thing,
Life is not always what it seems.
