Your heads on my chest
My arms protecting you from
Anything wishing you hurt
Your breathings so calm, so
Tranquil, its steady rhythm never failing

And as you’re lying with me
Through the dark hours of night
I hum a little tune, to banish nightmares
To help you to keep close to me
Even when I’m not around

Chorus:
This is your lullaby
A little piece of me to help
Lull you asleep in the dark
To help drive away the nightmares
And leave you peacefully dreaming

Let the words hold you now
Just as my arms did those past nights
Let them pull you in closer
To dreamland where we can be together
Again in the hours before dawn

Chorus:
This is your lullaby
A little piece of me to help
Lull you asleep in the dark
To help drive away the nightmares
And leave you peacefully dreaming

Let the melody cover you
In a warm blanket of serenity and
If you can, still love me when I’ve
Gone back home, away from your life
But always, to return again

Chorus:
This is your lullaby
A little piece of me to help
Lull you asleep in the dark
To help drive away the nightmares
And leave you peacefully dreaming

That line doesn't make any sense. Also, the way you use "it's" is wrong. It should be "it's", not "its".

This is kind of cliche in a way. Also, it's very repetitive at the end. There isn't a need for a chorus, unless you specify that it's a song.

Surround yourself with people who are serious about being writers, and who will tell you, ‘Hey—you can do better than this.’ Who will be critical of your work, but also supportive. And who will not be competitive in a negative way.
