Odin
It was with a guilty relief that Odin left Frigg and wandered back over towards where Hel was waiting with Geiir. He loved his wife, indeed he loved them both and all his children but for the moment his heart was with Gersemi alone and even that was shuttered far in the back of his head.
Odin knew he had to be intelligent, he had to be guided by wisdom and not emotion. Everything possible had to be done to save his daughter but not at the expense of the other Gods. And that was why he could not bear to go to Freyja who even now was distraught beyond even his comprehension. She would attend his council and there he would set her mind at ease and convince her he would rescue their daughter.
"Hel," Odin greeted, startling both her and Geiir who had been deep in conversation.
"Odin," she said stiffly. "What do you want of me?" Odin sat down beside them both upon the bridge, purposefully giving away his advantage of height. He had hoped that a talk with a man as good as Geiir would somehow soften her but it appeared to have had no effect.
"If you are willing to give it, I would desire your advice at the council I have called. I also want your help, physically, in retrieving my daughter." Hels eyes went wide and she stared at him.
"Physically? As in go there and get her back?"
"Thor has already left and has probably landed himself in danger," Odin said, quite seriously. It would not be the first time and while the human's stories never told of such trouble between the Gods, Odin knew that this would take more strength and cunning than he or any had alone. "So I have decided that I will lead a group of ten Gods, Goddesses and minor deities on a mission to rescue my daughter. Those added to Thor and myself make twelve and you know the significance of that. I have already decided which ten I would like and will ask their permission at the council."
"And you want me," Hel murmured. "Why?"
"Attend the council and I will explain."
