We are one in the same
Although we look different, sound different
We are the same
Deep inside.

We hurt the same
We love the same
We hope the same
We bleed the same

Then why do we fight?
Draw our weapons,
Mechanisms of death,
And kill our brothers.

We are one in the same
You, me, everyone
We are divided in life
Yet united in death.

Do you see their faces?
In the dirt, the grass, the sand
Contorted with pain or shock
Eyes open and void.

Unseeing
Unknowing
There they lie
Yours, mine, ours.
The opposite of courage is not cowardice but conformity

Bee is in the house bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

That is really deep. I like it a lot. It gives a lot of insight into the world we are forced to live in right now.

I like this a lot.

Just one thing I noticed....I think it's "one and the same" and not "one in the same..."

Excellent writing. I agree completely.

I love the stanza

We hurt the same
We love the same
We hope the same
We bleed the same

How true! Well done!
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a large fortune must be in want of a wife.
Pride and Prejudice, Chapter 1

Remember when dad's shoulders were the highest place on earth and your mom was your hero? Race issues were about who ran the fastest, war was only a car game. The most pain you felt was when you skinned your knees, and good byes only meant tomorrow? And we couldn't wait to grow up.
