The Writers Block Monster
There is a little monster
that creeps into your mind.
It sits upon a block
that reads, “I take my time.”
When you're not looking,
it searches for your writing.
Puts it in its box, and
smiles most defying.
“Give me back my stories,
and my poems and the such!”
The little monster laughs,
“All I can say is tough.”
After a few minutes, hours,
or even days,
the little monster sleeps,
and you sweep it away.
Your mind is clear and you write again,
but when you sleep
it tells a friend.
The writers block monster
tells it where to go.
Soon you have another monster
with a bigger box to show.
This is the cycle
that writers must endure.
But for the sake of human kind,
keep writing more!
