(This is a story I wrote because of my dreams. I have read the Twilight series, and I started this way before I had even heard of them. Its not much romance yet, but it will be. Trust me.)

Chapter One
Flight

FLIGHT

Flight pulled her lanyard over her head and called out, “Ready to go!” Her parents were taking her and her friend to the Magic Kingdom today. Yesterday they had gone to Epcot, but her friend’s little brother, Graham, had gotten sick and they had to leave. Flight and her friend Olivia both stood by the doorway, eager to continue their pin collecting. They had both been collecting pins from Disney World since they were seven. Now that they were thirteen, they could get more from the money they saved up each year for their trip to Disney. They had gotten ten in Epcot, and each of the girls still had about three hundred dollars left. Flight had put on her empty lanyard for the Magic Kingdom. For each lanyard, there were the pins she got at a park; One lanyard per park. But sometimes the lanyards got full and they had to use two. In since Magic Kingdom was the girls’ favorite place to find pins, they had an extra lanyard tucked into their fanny packs. Flight had her camera, which she had emptied onto her laptop before each park. She made the videos and pictures into a movie each year. “Come on, hurry up!” Flight shouted through the condo that they were staying in. “Coming!” Her parents called. Olivia looked out the peep hole in the door and said, “We better get going soon. Lirek’s already out and in the car.” Olivia said. Lirek was a boy that Flight and Olivia absolutely despised. He and his family had come to Orlando and had rented the condo next to theirs. Flight’s parents came through the hallway and they all rushed out the door. They piled into the car and raced off, eager to beat morning traffic. Flight and Olivia talked about the pins they wanted to get really bad.
“I really want to get that new pin. You know; the vampire one?” Flight said. “Yeah, I want one too. But they’re like, twenty bucks, and they only have one for sale a month, for twelve months. This is the last month.” Olivia said. “But I really want it!” Flight moaned. “Well, you still have to find which cart it’s on.” Olivia pointed out. “Yeah, I know. And there’s like a million carts in all of Magic Kingdom!” Flight cried. “Maybe you’ll get lucky,” Flight’s dad said helpfully. “Yeah right. I never win anything,” Flight sighed. “Yeah, but because you’re an only child you get a lot more.” Olivia added. “I know, but there’s the feeling of winning that I want to feel, not the thing I’m getting.” Flight said. “If only you had more time on your hands to think about it…” Olivia sighed. “I’m thirteen, how could I not have time on my hands?” Flight asked. “Because we’re here!” Olivia laughed and jumped out of the car. Flight followed closely. They rode the tram over to the entrance and then rushed to the nearest cart. Flight’s parents looked at a map while Flight and Olivia bought some pins. When they were done, they both walked over to Flight’s parents, putting their pins on. “You two want to ride the Haunted Mansion first?” Flight’s mom, Abby asked. Olivia and Flight nodded. Flight’s father, Robert, said, “All right. You two go on ahead, we’re gonna go ride Pirates of the Caribbean and meet you guys back at TomorrowLand right by the Stitch’s Great Escape, okay?” Flight and Olivia nodded, used to the freedom. Flight had her cell phone and Olivia had a small walkie talky she always had with her. They made their way through the thick crowds and into the line in the Haunted Mansion. Everything went quickly as the two friends clipped their pins onto their lanyards and envied each other’s pins. As they were in line, there was a pin shop. The line had stopped. Flight leaned over the chains and looked closely. She saw something white, tipped with red… The vampire pin! Flight took all the pins off the hook until she found it. She grinned hugely and bought it. “Look!” Flight cried at Olivia. Olivia and Flight jumped up and down until their legs hurt. “I can’t believe I found it!” Flight squealed. “I told you that you were running out of time,” Olivia laughed. “I never thought I could win anything!” Flight sighed happily, twirling with her lanyard to her chest. “Well, I’m getting tired of standing here.” Olivia complained. Flight stopped twirled and looked at Olivia. “It’s the Haunted Mansion’s hey day, all right? It only opened a year ago after being refurbished.” Flight scolded. “More like hey century. The line never ends!” Olivia said, motioning behind them. Flight gaped. There was a mile long line behind them! Finally, the line started to move again. Flight kept looking down fondly at the vampire teeth pin clipped onto her lanyard. As they neared the entrance, Flight and Olivia recalled the last time they were on the ride, which was their first. “I can’t believe they hung a fake man in there!” Flight cried. “I know, and that guy’s underpants? How was that scary?” Olivia replied. The doors opened and Olivia, Flight, and a huge crowd of people squeezed into the room. Flight clutched her lanyard tight as the room’s walls began to drop; as if the walls were melting away. Suddenly, the lights flashed on and everyone screamed. At the top of the room there was a fake man hanging by his neck, which was usually on the ride. But there was something crouched on top of the fake man, hanging onto the rope. It was a human figure, definaitly a young male. After the lights flashed on and everyone screamed after they got a glimpse of the shadowy figure, he took off. There was a whoosh and he was gone. The second set of doors opened and everyone poured out, glad to get out of the strange room. They boarded the cars and started to move along through the old-looking Mansion. When they were at the ball room with all the dancing ghosts, the lights suddenly went out. The cars stopped and the music stopped and the ghosts slowed and then disappeared. It was so dark no one could see anything. “We have a minor technical difficulty, please remain seated.” A voice over the intercom said. It sounded like it was a rough, gravelly voice, almost a hiss. Suddenly, Flight felt freezing cold puffs of air on her neck. Flight froze. The hair on the back of her neck stood on end as two sharp, cold… Whatever they were, pierce the side of her neck. They were pressed in, but hadn’t cut her. Frozen in place, Flight didn’t breathe at all. She held her breath, waiting to see what would happen. Suddenly, out in the ball room, a ghost in an old-fashioned tuxedo appeared. A tall, willowy man in a long black cloak stepped into the ballroom. Two pale hands emerged from the cloak, and then the man started to talk to the ghost. Everyone watched, amazed. Flight was still tense as an ice cold hand brushed across her check, as if saying farewell, and then the cold feeling was gone. A different voice came over the intercom, “We’re terribly sorry, but we need to shut the Haunted Mansion down for a while. Please exit your cars and leave through the nearest exit doors.” The voice sounded worried and a little hasty, so everyone was in a rush to get off the Haunted Mansion ride. Flight noticed that the ghost was gone and the man stood there alone, his pale, shadowy face furious. Olivia shoved the wide-eyed Flight through the nearest exit door, which led down a long, narrow staircase. The ceiling slanted down with the stairs. Flight stumbled clumsily down the stairs, trying not to trip over people’s feet. When they were halfway down the stairs, loud banging noises came from the ceiling, as if someone was running across them. Everyone screamed and started to take the steps three at a time. Flight and Olivia were shoved down the staircase and out the exit doors. Olivia pulled her lanyard back in place and tightened her pony tail. “I wonder what happened,” Olivia wondered, looking at the exit doors. Flight didn’t hear her though. She was too busy looking at the attic window in the Haunted Mansion. A lone boy stood there, dark black hair mostly covering his amber eyes, pale face straight and set, and…. And two, glinting fangs.
