I know that this is a bit of an odd poem. It is so because at first it was from a exersize I did when we pointed with our eyes closed at random words in a book, rote down eleven of them and then had to write a short poem with one of the words it every line. the layout of mine has changed but most is the same.
Shame
The room buzzes with whispers.
The fragments still lie where they crashed to the floor.
A bird outside grips its branch as wind rushes through the bowl of the valley,
Howling,
As though in pain.
Nervous laughter rings out across the room,
reaching towards me.
I am surrounded, and yet
completely alone.
In the corner of my mind embarrassment flares,
triggering a hot rush of blood to the face.
The glances come, over and over.
Whispers creep up to hiss in my ears,
threatening.
I ran away.
