The sun seems to stay behind the twilight moon,
So that the sky is tinged with dawn and dusk,
The wind is whistling above a low tide of air,
I look out into the lonely distance, I can see someone there.
Maybe this is the time when we grow up,
When babies are born and old men kneel laughing to their end.
Perhaps this is a moment when wrong becomes right
When dim shines into bright:
Could it be tonight?
My shadow makes me feel like a taller man
His wide arms silhouetting a braver pose than I could hold
And she is more mesmerising in the night’s warm handprint,
Her voice moving into a swaying sweetness no hand could still.
Is this the hour when ghosts crouch on my windowsill?
When a child wishes upon a falling star?
When together we fly, hand in hand, holding on tight
Could it be tonight?
The road ahead is clearer than ever before,
The paths all twisting into one,
Yet truth is warm on my back like the rising sun.
Our souls begin to drift together- her and me
Moving together in our own clumsy harmony.
Is this the day I’ve been dreaming of?
Is this the girl, is this the night I fall in love?
Could it be tonight?
