I watched Juno yesterday, and I loved the soundtrack. So, I decided to write my own anti-folk song. Here ya go XD
~~~~~~
Oh, ring the church bell once for wit
and twice for memories,
of hopscotch without chalk
and a sting without a bee,
Remember me?
And when I talk about the cool kids
I am talking about goats
and other things like
when a devil in the belfry sheds its skin,
and upon a leather ottoman it rests its moccasins.
Oh, red eyed, and yawning, it rests it moccasins.
*chorus*
And when I talk about disaster
I am talking about hugs
spent on a doorstep in
the west, one million miles above
all the awkward mailmen delivering love.
Oh, dog-chased, blue-faced they deliver love.
*Chorus*
And when I said that I loved you
I meant that I was bored
and no more, because If
I can be frank (Hi frank!)
love's a chore;
comparable to naming a whore.
Oh, what's-its-name, that little whore.
Oh, ring the church bell once for wit
and twice for remembering
that ocean made of sand,
and this song without a key
Remember me,
Remember me?
*short instrumental*
And when I sing this song,
that pretends to be about love,
I laugh just because it's really a devil
dressed like a dove.
And, whenever it rains he looks up.
Oh, wherever it rains, he's looking up.
And upon a leather ottoman it rests it's moccasins,
oh, two-toed and worn-down they're made of sin.
Two-toed and red-eyed this is sin.
The good parts of a book may be only something a writer is lucky enough to overhear or it may be the wreck of his whole damn life — and one is as good as the other.
this is lovely! beautifully cynical at parts and funny in others. it flows well and i just love the whole thing - it also sounds very like something which might have been featured in juno, so if that was your goal then i'd say you've achieved it.
i would quote you a particular piece i liked, but i'd just be quoting the whole thing :]
gooood work.
sometimes you are the windshield...and sometimes you are the bug. that's just the way the cookie crumbles, so go take a long walk off a short plank.
hahaha :D
This was...interesting. I liked the flow. It was a bit odd though. that's just my opinion. XD
This looks like a really bad episode of Green Acres.
