This was an idea I had for a TV series but I felt it would work much better as a Storybook. Conspiracy thriller with perhaps a sci-fi element.
THE SET-UP:
In a post-9/11 and 7/7 London, the city wakes up to news of yet another terrorist attack: a Sarin gas attack on three Underground stations. The thirteen strangers whose lives collide in the aftermath of this traumatic event soon find themselves connected in some strange ways and realise the possibility this may be someone's grand dark design...
"Everything is connected." - Veneziano's theory of quantum physics.
THE SURVIVORS:
I have thought of several characters but originally I intended for thirteen. The profiles are partially complete for most of the characters, except mine, to give you some freedom. Here's the few I've thought up:
Name: Eric Brown (my character)
Age: 22
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Occupation: Lawyer
Description: Tall, dark brown hair, blue eyes.
History: Extrovert but was convicted of molesting his ex-girlfriend.
Strengths: Talented public speaker. Very perceptive and observant.
Weaknesses: Often unorganised.
Name: Kate Brown
Age: 21
Occupation: Self-help guru
Description: Medium height, blonde hair, blue eyes. A real party animal. Once arrested for doing cocaine.
Name: Dave Skelton
Age: 34
Occupation: Reporter
Description: Medium to tall height, brown hair, brown eyes. Among the first reporters to cover the attack. His unorthodox methods have led him into conflict with his editor in the past.
Name: Amanda Singh
Age: 45
Occupation: Human resources manager
Description: Small to medium height, black hair, brown eyes. Married with two children, her family becomes the victim of hate mail as no one claims responsibility for the attacks. Former alcoholic.
Name: Carl Stephenson
Age: 43
Occupation: Finance director
Description: Tall, blond hair, brown eyes. Divorced.
THE RULES:
1. No God modding
2. Third person POV/narrative
3. The story opens in the immediate aftermath of the attack.
4. Claim one of the above four characters first, expand on the profile as per my example, then make up your own for the remaining eight survivors (from the proposed thirteen).
5. Apart from that, the sky's the limit.
