Dear Mum,

I'm writing this, intending that you never read it. Words have always been my forte, as you know very well, but I can't write letters. Especially letters of thanks, and of graditude.

I don't know if I would be the person I am today if it weren't for you. You gave birth to me, fed and clothed me. Bathed me, stayed up with me when I couldn't sleep. You framed the piece of paper I first wrote my name on and you never made me feel bad if there was a word I didn't know.

You have always, since birth, encouraged me to do my best, and never insulted me about anything. You taught me to cook, to sew and to look after myself. You taught me numbers (it's not your fault I don't get them. You taught them well- I failed) and you taught me words.

You cried when I cried, laughed when I laughed and read when I wrote. You were always there to help me if I was stuck, and you have always inspired me when in a painful bout of writers block. You understand how I feel when the words don't come, and you praise me when they do.

You give me plotlines by doing nothing, and you give me words by speaking with your magical voice.

Mum, it is because of you that I am me. Because of you that I write. Because of you that I read.

I love you mum,
Rosie.

This was really sweet, just a few suggestions -

You have always, and to this day, [I don't like 'and to this day.' It doesn't quite fit.] encouraged me to do my best, and never insulted me about anything.

You cried when I cried, laugghed [Typo here.] when I laughed and read when I wrote.

You give me plotlines by doing nothing, and you give me words by speaking with your magical voice.

Other than that, well written and you should show her. Mum's like to know that they're appreciated. Write it up and leave it somewhere about the house if you can't face giving it to her personally.

Omg so sweeet. Makes me think about all that my Mom has done for me. Thanks so much Rosie! (I guessing that's your name from reading your writing)
I'm so glad I read this. I'm always arguing with my Mom. I Am a very ungrateful daughter and realized that by reading your piece. Kitty15 is right. Leave it somewhere for your Mom to read. She'll really like it.

Hoorayy To ALL MOMS! :)
I'm a godmother, that's a great thing to be, a godmother. She calls me god for short, that's cute, I taught her that.

That was so sweet!.

never insulted me about anything.

Well thats not true we all know that our parents have been mad or insulted us. I guess.
Maybe you should add something like this:

You have always loved me, even when you where mad with me. Even when I [insert back deed here].
etc...

Over all nice work. I really liked that, and I know your mum will to!

Thanks for all the crits. I left this one for a while, but I decided to edit it a bit today.
*Don't expect to see me around much in the next couple of weeks. School has started again, and it'll be a couple of weeks before I've settled in. If you've asked me for a critique, you will get it, but not for a little while. Sorry*
