For everything you said
Would you talk more?
Or would you talk less?

sorry about my poem, i'm not very good at writing them, but i just wanted to say this: well...if we all talked so much, then no one would listen, which would really make what we say worthless.

but about the other poem: well, if, as it tells us, everyone did that, then eventually no one would talk, and no one would here either. so that would make this worthless too.

so really...you shouldn't talk too much, and you shouldn't talk too little (altho listening is good)...

i don't know, i was just thinking about this and came up with this. you can post comments on your own thoughts of the two poems, and you can comment on my poem too.

I didn't really understand the first stanza of your poem, however. Wouldn't you want to talk more, so that you would make more? And how does it relate to the second. If they are just your thoughts, you really wouldn't need to speak. You could just make money by sitting nude with your chin on your hand, and look really classic at the same time too.

Hmm... The more I think on it, the more I am confused. But it still had the same kind of nursery-rhyme wisdom that the 'The Wise Old Owl' did, even if I didn't quite understand it. It just carried itself with that kind of aura.

thanks! i'm glad you liked it. what i was saying in stanza one was this: well, if you were paid, would you talk more or less? c'mon, it's an easy choice...

that more than actually asking the reader. and then in the second stanza i say "well of course you'd talk more!"

hope that clears stuff up (i wish that there'd been a better way to say that in the poem)

I liked them both. They seem kinda witty to me. ^_^ I agree that if we talk more, others wouldn't listen, and your poem showed that even without you explaining it after. So, nice job. The owl one is really good too, with the same kind of purpose as the one you wrote. We really should listen more than we talk.
