Slightly Nano

Because of my intense workload at College I shall not be doing Nano. however I think I'm going to use the snowflake method to do a real in depth outline of a new idea I have and maybe collate some research in preparation for writing. I have never planned before so it will still be an achievement to get this done.

Thoughts?

Snowflake method makes me want to die.


I said I was going to use note cards this year, but ended up thinking about the plot so much that I could use regular outline form like I always do.


Research is fun though! Depending on what you are researching.

I am in your way, Phor. I have an obnoxious work load as well, though I'm starting to feel left out without doing it so I may! Lol.

Snowflake method, as well, brings up my lunch. It doesn't seem connected enough for me...

Well I'm open to suggestion of other ways to plot. I need to be in total control of this one before I write it though. Its very complex and precise in my head. I need an advanced way to plot it out.

Snow flake is for people who don't know what they are writing about yet. I outline in basic outline style:

I. Chapter title
.....a. blurb about the chapter which could be as long or as short as you want it to be.


For a while I also wrote my outlines to that each chapter had a marked beginning, conflict, and solution, so that way my chapters would work well. But that annoyed me. I'm rather simplistic, and set in my ways. Some people write outlines as scenes, and the only time I did this was when I was writing a story without chapters and only with breaks, or parts in it.

You might want to sign up on the NaNo site just to wander the forums, and ask in the plot section about in depth outlines. They always are really good with advice.

I dont really have any idea about the plot. I have some scenes in my head. Thats all. I just know that it has potential to be.. complicated.

Then this might help you. It's what I originally planned to do for NaNo, but then didn't need to. I think it's a very good way to plot, actually.

Yes, Holly Lisle is an online writing Godess. I forgot about her actually. Thanks for reminding me. The problem is my whole novel is first person - so this isnt THAT good for me. Usable but a bit iffy. I really like the sound of snowflake...
