Take it away

This is sort of poetic, I guess, but it seems more short story to me.

Take It Away
Is this some sort of game you play? With the boys in the 'hood?
Why'd you have to be so mean? Why'd you have to take away my pain, only to replace it with shame?

Just leave me be...
Stay away from here, and now.
Take away the pain once more.
Take away the sad memories.
Leave the joy, I felt inside.
Leave the laughs we shared.

I'll forgive, but never forget, what you've done is surely no regret.
So, leave me here, leave me now.
Walk away, with no dignity.

Then, and only then, will I respect your privacy.
Until then, let me say this, "Go away, go away, come again another day."
Until then, I'll cry on her shoulder awhile. I'm glad; she hasn't left yet. My friend is still at my side. My sister is there too. My life is still together; its just missing you. You don't need to be a part of the picture. You don't need to be there. You don't need to see my eyes. You don't need anything at all.

But, you and your guys...they all think exactly the same. They all think that girls are a game. They all think they can steal my flower.

But, you're wrong! No one has; and no one will.
It's mine, all mine. And, no one else's.
I'll keep it for me, as you shall all see.
I'll keep it for me; I'll keep it here, and now. I'll keep it by my right side. I'll keep locked away in my head.

If that's what it takes...
If that's what it takes, I'll keep it here, away from you.

Just leave my side. And, take away the pain. But, don't you dare try to steal my only flower.

With the boys in the 'hood[']?

 Yeah, this did seem a lot like poetry to me, but I'm no poetry expert...so there's not much I can say about it becase I don't really understand that kind of writing.

:?: For a short story it seemed, well...really short, like I had trouble understanding what was going on until I read it the second time, it seemed a little unclear in that way. But maybe it's just me, most likely.

:!: Anyways, it was good, I liked it, even if it was more poem than story to me.

But that is not the question. Why we are here, that is the question. And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come. -Beckett

Thanks!
I wasn't really sure which forum to post it in. I'm sorry that I picked the wrong one.

Moved to other.

This is kind of verseless prose, not fiction, but not poetry either. It's okay that you couldn't find where to put it ^_^ I wasn't entirely sure, myself...

...Wow. Let me tell you what I think.....[not that it matters]

Just leave me be...
Stay away from here, and now.
Take away the pain once more.
Take away the sad memories.
Leave the joy, I felt inside.
Leave the laughs we shared.

I'll forgive, but never forget, what you've done is surely no regret.

Okay, so I am a song-writer...well...makeshift.
But anyways: That would make one hell of a chorus for a song. Maybe some electric guitar, haunting choir 'oohs' and 'aahs' in the backround, and a piano. Definitly a piano. This makes me smile when I imagine what it could be made into. You should try song lyrics, if you haven't already. You might be a natural.

See what you can come up with, and keep me posted! I'd love to read it!
I open my mouth to sing, and you can see right through me.
I open my eyes to see, And I’m invisible
I look around me to take in my surroundings
And I disappear - And then the words begin...

Thanks so much!
I used to dabble in songwriting, but I gave it up (can't remember why). I guess I'll try it again.

Thanks!
