man this is very good, but im a bit confused, it might just be me, but the fence is a metaphor for death or an actuall fence, maybe both? other wize i like the use of the gray cat!
I thought this was wonderfully written. I like how with each stanza, a piece of time goes by, almost as if they were each a chapter in the cat's life as well as yours, do you catch my drift?
When having a cat for that long, it's pretty saddening when the time of passing comes by. It's like losing an old friend. I liked your literal and metaphorical aspect of the high fence and the cracks in the stone wall.
I am quite fond of this poem, and this seems to be a beautiful gift for your cat, even though they cannot read... But I swear that cats can understand what we say sometimes, do you know what I mean?
Once again, this is a beautiful piece.
