RP Blitz: Whispers of Whitehook

𖢻 Blitzia Lore Compendium 𖢻 Roleplay Blitz Info 𖢻 DM : @ScarlettFire Adventurers : @EveryUsernameTaken, @Spearmint, @keystrings Party Name : Whispers of Whitehook Likely RP Type : Realm Blitzia's oldest and most well known port, Whitehook is perched on the Northwest coast, overlooking Nate's Harbor and the Sea of Serpents. Despite its importance in trade, it is somewhat isolated from the rest of Blitzia by both the mountains that back it to the East and the wintry climate, cultivating its reputation as a sleepy ice-fishing town that is disconnected and off in its own little world. However, with rising tensions and the Izhali making this quaint port as their home, it might not stay that way for long. https://i.imgur.com/ocTE9eh.png PREMISE IDEAS To prepare you for your journey, we've created three ideas that would suit your region and genre tastes. You are more than welcome to tweak them to your taste or go for something else entirely. Remember that you'll need to complete this roleplay in a month, so the scope of your story should be small. 𖢻 BELOW THE PORT 𖢻 A mythical sea creature appears and causes havoc at one of the ports. The town puts together a group to find and kill it before it destroys the ancient city. 𖢻 CARGO ESCORT 𖢻 Precious cargo has appeared on the docks of Whitehook, precious enough that it has gained the interest of many, some with conflicting views. You've been hired to ensure the cargo reaches its destination without being lost or seized although a few being to wonder if this shipment should even be delivered at all. 𖢻 TOWER OF ICE 𖢻 As newly trained ice sorcerers, you have been assigned to work at the Tower of Ice on the edge of Whitehook, known by locals as the Tower. However when you arrive, you find an air or urgency in your new workplace to seal the adjacent mountain passes with glaciers. What is in the mountains that you and your colleagues are trying to stop? https://i.imgur.com/ocTE9eh.png DM CHECKLIST A handy guide to help the DM prepare the party for July's adventure! 1. Coordinate introductions and set expectations with your party. What kind of roleplay will you be writing? How will the party brainstorm, plan, and collaborate - OOC only, WFP, Riseup? What does everyone's weekly availability look like? What is everyone's time zones? 2. As a team, decide on a premise that everyone is on board with. This premise can be one of the three provided, a derivitive of it, or something else entirely, as long as it takes place in your region of Blitzia and adheres to the general Blitzia lore provided here . 3. Create a character profile template and share it with your party. We suggest all characters are created before outlining the story gets too underway. 4. Decide on a name for the story. At this point, you may create the official RP thread (under Storybook Sanctuary, Roleplay Realm, etc.), but posting the actual story can't begin until July 1st! When creating the official RP thread, please add "[RP Blitz]" to the front of the topic title, so that it looks like: [RP Blitz] Dragon's Maw 5. Brainstorm the story and begin working on an outline together. As a reminder, please keep the scope of this story SMALL. The outline should hit all the main story beats but doesn't need to get into too much detail. Here's an example outline: The Grocery Store : Your characters are preparing to make the perfect soup--but then, they realize they don't have the special ingredient! Can they make their way to the grocery store during rush hour and back home in time to eat their perfect soup before leaving for a birthday party? Our characters meet together at the house and have a good talk about how their days have been! In the middle of the talk, one realizes-- OH NO! We don't have the special ingredient for our perfect soup! Characters get dressed in their very fancy jetpacks to go to the grocery store, but the sky highways are SO busy at this time of day. They try to use the sky highways. When they come across a huge road block, they decide they should find a different way to the grocery store. Our characters land on the ground and try to walk over the apocalyptic ground and avoid zombies. Attack!! Run from the vampires!! Our characters have a huge fight and chase scene, and barely escape with their lives. Secretly, one of them has gotten bitten... DUH DUH DUHHHHH! Looking a bit worse for wear, our characters finally reach the correct neighborhood of the grocery store--but now, since they don't have their jetpacks, they can't pass the security fence meant to keep dragons out! Oh gosh, whatever will we do? One character goes, "Hey!! I have a brilliant idea! Let's use our earth magic to tunnel our way INTO the jetpack parking lot. That way, we avoid any vampires, we don't have to try to climb and avoid dragons, AND we get to find the secret ingredient! Also, confession time, I got bitten by the vampire :[." GASP! The other characters go, "Oh no! We will magically solve that problem later. But first, your idea sounds great. Can't wait to eat soup!" After a lot of hard work, our characters are in the parking lot and enter the store. But-- GASP!! It is OUT OF THE SECRET INGREDIENT!! This is a tragedy. Sad and soupless, our characters taxi-jetpack home, using the money they would have used for the secret ingredient. Our characters finally get back home, depressed and with no soup. Then, LIGHTBULB MOMENT. One character goes, "WAIT! The secret ingredient is LOVE!!! WE CAN MAKE OUR SOUP! And ALSO, that is how we cure vampirism so now we are all safe. Yippee!" TRIUMPH! Our heroes victoriously sit down to bowls of perfect soup. Then, one of our characters, Charles, says, "hey wait... did we ever get a birthday present for the party tonight?" Facepalm moment. Oh, Charles , you silly man!! The SOUP is the present! And the past. And the future. Everything is soup. End of roleplay. :] 6. When you've finalized the outline, post it here in the OOC and tag @DungeonMaster. We need to receive the finalized outline from you by June 30th in order for everyone in the party to earn the Blitz Bard Badge! 7. Beginning July 1st, the roleplay may begin. Above all, have fun! https://i.imgur.com/ocTE9eh.png Good luck, adventurers! First thing's first - what premise tickles your fancy, and what kind of story are you itching to tell? 𖢻 Blitzia Lore Compendium 𖢻 Roleplay Blitz Info 𖢻

Just need to decide on an ending. Feel free to toss suggestions into the pad. I’ll look at them after work tomorrow!

Hello everyone! I won't be able to do much with ya'll coming today through Sunday of this week.

I will see if I can make time to jump around and see how everything is going but some days I probably won't be here at all.

Also, welcome Spearmint and Keystrings!

All good, Every! Just check in on the pad when you get the chance. I'll be free later tonight and tomorrow to do things.

For now, @DungeonMaster we have a plot outline! It's very much subject to change/whatever people manage to work into their post/s, but here it is;

Spoiler

The Plot Outline:

part one: recieving the cargo
- argument with the previous escorts?(Zuri / Scar)
- taking possession of said cargo
- discussing where to go
- discussing who sent it, if they know
- overhearing rumours about the cargo

part two: don't open the box (Lynnae / Key)
- the party opens a box
- what the-- the cargo is a kid??
- the kid is too curious and Will Not Stay Put causing chaos insues, basically! yup lol

part three: wrangle that toddler! (Isaac / Every)
- party tries to keep the kid in one place (it's harder than it looks)
- they need to go to the Tower of Ice but
- they lose the kid at one stage, cue looking for kid
- finally find kid with a strange man

part four: Uncle Fabian has arrived (Kymil / Mint)
- party demands kid back, fabian argues with them
- kid gets angsty and wriggles til fabian has no choice but to let go
- kid runs straight to Zuri the Merc, who comforts him
- fabian gets angry about that

part five: fight, fight, fight (Zuri / Scar)
- kid gets wrangled out of the way
- zuri and fabian fight
- the fight is a draw
- but both fabian and zuri are injured

part six: Time to Make a Hasty Retreat (Issac / Every)
- Fabian glares at the party for a long moment, then leaves (without kiddo)
- Zuri drops his defences and sits on his butt
- the others start arguing, kiddo starts crying
- kid runs for zuri for comfort/cuddles

part seven: Let's Get You Home (Lynnae / Key)
- the party finds a place to lay low after the fight (Archer's)
- they take turns comforting the kid
- after regrouping, the party heads for the Tower
- they encounter Fabian again
- he's not alone; there's several Izhali priests with him

part eight: This Is The Part Why I Kill You (Kymil / Mint)
- The two groups fight and Zuri's group barely scrapes a win
- Fabian refuses to leave
- Zuri makes it clear he Will Kill Fabian if he doesn't Get Out Of The Way
- Fabian still Refuses but is called away at the last second
- (which is good bc Zuri is still injured from the last fight and hasn't recovered yet)

part nine; Finally, Delivery Time (Zuri / Scar)
- the party enters the Tower
- they hand over kiddo
- Zuri requests to see his "sister" and is denied
- the group leaves and heads back to Archer's
- they spend a few hours recovering
- but learn kiddo has been kidnapped

part ten; Rescue Mission (Failure) (Lynnae / Key)
- it's not part of the escort job anymore but
- Zuri wants to save the kid bc he has a feeling he knows who took him
- they track down Fabian and the other Izhali followers
- but they play dumb and say they don't have the kid
- Zuri and Fabian argue; Fabian drives them away
- Zuri is suspicious and feels this confirms Fabian''s involvement

part eleven; Rescue Mission (Success) (this is likely to be multiple posts, so at least one from all four of us)
- the party return to Archer's to regroup
- they discuss options on how to rescue kiddo
- an argument ensues and Zuri storms off into another room
- finally, they agree on a plan and execute it
- fabian dies, kiddo is saved
- but the Tower is no longer safe
- Archer offers to adopt kiddo
- cue goodbyes etc
- party leaves whitehook

potential alt end;
- fabian wins, the party dies (this is unlikely as no one likes the vibes, but i'm keeping it bc we've got to at least plan for true failure!)

no title yet, but i'm hoping we can come up with one tonight. then i'll post the actual RP/OOC either later tonight or tomorrow morning!
