Dream World

You don’t know how it happened, but you find yourself dozing off. Despite your clumsy struggles to return to the waking world, something grabs at you and pulls you firmly into…. the Dream World.

Notes: This world is a strange place, where clouds can ensnare you and strange flora and fauna abound. Feel free to add your own quirks to this world as well!
Also, the world may or may not be named Martha.

Name: Karter Mistone
Age: 15
Pronouns: he/him
Appearance: Karter is slightly short for his age. He has curly hair and light brown skin, and his hazel eyes have flecks of green and gold. He likes trying new clothing styles every so often. Right now, he's in a jeans-with-accessories phase, so you might find him with a silver chain running from one pocket, or with buttons sewn on to the hems.
Personality: Karter is that guy who always speaks before he thinks. He is a nice person, though, and tries his best to be friendly. He's quick to offer help if anyone needs it.
Other: He has the ability to shrink food. If Karter touches an item of food and focuses, he can shrink it to as much as a hundredth of its size. This can be quite handy at times, especially if you have a little bag you can store all that miniaturized food in. Karter can unshrink the food and it'll appear exactly as it used to be, as if it was frozen in time.

Karter had been studying the history of spellcasting in the library, when suddenly, he couldn’t keep his eyes open any longer. He tried to pinch himself awake— there was an exam tomorrow that he had to cram for. But it was to no avail.

In the space of a moment, he had slipped into dreams.

Karter blinked. He was in a strange, yellow meadow, full of tall grasses that whispered mysteriously. The sky above was tinged with pink. He must be dreaming, but he couldn’t recall ever having a dream as vivid as this.

“H-hello?” he called out.

Name: Izabella Bryton
Pronouns: She/her
Appearance: Short, light brown hair and brown eyes. Light brown skin, medium nose. Short, about 5 feet tall.
Personality: Izabella is bright and shy around strangers. Around friends, she's friendly and laughs a lot. She likes to try to make jokes, though they aren't always funny. She's kind and hopes to help people out, but she's paranoid and fearful of a lot of things.

Izabella had been reading a letter that had stated that she had an appointment to something that would make her have to wait in a apparently big waiting room. But the details of it were so boring, and it was late, she had a bunch of homework to do still. She hadn't gotten enough sleep the previous night, so naturally, she dozed off.

When she woke up, she wasn't in her room, or in some strange dream that was the combination of a bunch of strange things that had happened in the previous day. She was in a forest, one that had blue trees with luscious, wispy leaves that rusled in the breeze. The tall, thin grass was teal, and just then, a beautiful amethyst purple bird flew past her, with long, curved feathers that fluttered gracefully in the wind. What is this place? Izabella wondered. And why did it feel so real?

Name: Cassandra
Pronouns: She/her
Appearance: She is 7’1” and has short orange hair tied into a bun. She’s strong and physically fit. She wears the kind of clothing that warriors wear (includes some armor), and she has tiger stripes on her body. In her tiger form, she is an 8-foot long Siberian tiger. She has a scar over her left eye in both forms.
Personality: She is a serious and hard-working character who fights for the greater good. She does not trust easily, but when she determines that someone is trustworthy, she will do anything to protect and/or assist them.
Other: Cassandra is a were-tiger; she can fully control her transformation. Her style of fighting is ambushing.

The brave warrior Cassandra, leader of The Crimson Claws, was not one to sleep for long. After all, when your homeland is taken over by dark forces, you needed more hours in the day to combat them. She usually slept for a maximum of four hours each night. That was all she needed, really.

She walked into her small hut and got on her knees. Quickly, and with a small flash of light, she transformed into a large tiger. The hut was just big enough to hold her. Her body had grown accustomed to the few hours that she slept, so she had no doubt in her mind that she would wake up in time.

But something strange happened today.

She did wake up on time—she could sense it—but she was not in her hut, or even at her army base.

She shifted her weight to her hind legs, and she transformed back into a human. She looked around at the strange world she was in. It seemed to be a field, with purple grass and indigo weeds blowing in the wind. The sky was an unusual shade of salmon, and there were green fireflies arising from the grass.

Cassandra instinctively reached for the crossbow on her back, but she jumped when she realized it wasn’t there.

What is this?

Karter frowned and reached for the bag where he stored his miniaturized food, but its familiar weight was missing. Oh dear. This wasn't good. Were his powers still working?

He looked around for something he could use to test them. Grasses were sometimes edible, but it wasn't entirely clear whether they were food or not, so he always had trouble shrinking them. Then Karter spotted a forest in the distance. Forest... There'll probably be berries and such in a forest...

Without a second thought, Karter took off for the forest.

Name: Lorenzo Rodrigo
NickName: Enzo
Age: 19
Gender/Pronouns: He/Him

Appearance: He has a tall lean frame, with black hair that slightly hides his face. He has a slit in his eyebrow. He has a Hispanic-Italian looking face with blue eyes. He has a visible scar on his right upper arm from cutting a vein on a piece of scrap metal when he saved his sister from falling on it and it going through her head. He has a sharp jawline. He usually wears black T-shirts and jeans or a black hooded sweatshirt.

Personality: Has a deep voice, is friendly. Waits for people to make conversation or prefers to be alone. Hates people chewing loudly or in his ear, dislikes chewing gum and is on a cola diet. Poor at maths but loves history, probably top of the class in history and geography. Likes to be left alone and loves to draw when he is in his own world.

Other: He lives with his strict, disciplined father and his beautiful 21-year-old sister. His sister, Raquel, has failed several times in two grades and is now only one grade above him. The reason for Raquel's failure will be revealed later on. His father has given his sister one more year at school. If she fails again, he will not be happy. His father wants him to study hard and become a doctor, but this is completely against Lorenzo's wishes.

Lorenzo waited in the car for his sister, Raquel, today she would get her results, whether she passed or not it was a big moment. He knew her father would do something terrible to her if she failed, like marry her off to some guy she had never met.

Their father was no fool and Lorenzo really prayed that Raquel would pass. He had tried to help her with her studies, but that was partly Their father's fault too, because he wanted Raquel to help him sort the office papers while she went to school, and what good would that do her, she never even had time to finish her homework, let alone study for the exam.

But he had studied hard, staying up late to prepare for his maths exams, and as he sat behind the wheel he began to nod off. Deciding that a five-minute nap would do no harm, he pulled up his seat to make it more comfortable and lay back with his cap pulled down over his face.

Suddenly, a magnetic force pulled him into a deep slumber in the dream world. He opened his eyes to see a beautiful sunny sky and the smell of autumn leaves. He stood up and looked around, "Wow!" he exclaimed, he could not believe it was real. He bent over a small puddle of water and looked at his reflection, "Still the same." He remarked, looking at the high hills. He smiled and took a run, "Whoohooo. This is amazing!" He shouted as he ran over the hills, the wind blowing through his hair and the sun shining in his eyes.

Karter ran through the grass, hardly noticing as it changed from yellow to purple. A strange buzzing sound filled the air, then disappeared without a trace. If Karter looked up, he might’ve seen the clouds tugging at each other and morphing into strange shapes, but he kept his eyes firmly on the forest.

Was this really a dream? It felt so real… the breeze against his face… the faint scent of petrichor…

Karter cocked his head and paused for a moment. Was that a shout in the distance?

"This. Is. Out. Of. This. World!" Lorenzo shouted, still unable to comprehend that he was in this magical place. He ran down the hill and saw small houses, and as he slowed down he caught the smell of freshly made lamb soup, the kind his sister made at home.

He sniffed at the smell and began to search for the house the smell came from as he walked towards the houses, he saw no one in them but they looked too good to be abandoned. "Hello? Is anyone there?" After a while Lorenzo started to grumble and water started to run in his mouth. When he finally reached the house where the delicious smell was coming from, he stopped and poked his head down the window.

He saw a bowl of soup sitting on the table with a spoon next to it, ready for someone to dig in. Lorenzo looked around the house and on the streets, he searched for people. He searched for someone to stop him from going into their house. He tried once again, "Is someone here? Anyone?" After calling like about twelve times, Lorenzo's hunger took over and he opened the door and stormed in.

Just then someone else jumped into the house to but through the window. "Who are you?" the boy asked Lorenzo. "Lorenzo, and who are you?" said Lorenzo with a heavy Italian accent. The boy looked at him and said, "I'm ..."

Name: Elona Stamper
Age: 15
Appearance: Long black hair, brown eyes, usually wears a purple shirt and white jeans. She's about 5'1.
Other: She may or may not be part-ghost, from when she went to the school for GHOSTS, but her ghost powers only work in dream world.

It has to be at least four in the morning, and Elona couldn't sleep.
It wasn't like she was unable to, it was just that she and her friend were having a sleepover, which mean binge-watching all seasons of the office. Elona could barely keep her eyes open, and all the sugar and caffeine ingested before was clearly wearing off.
"Let's get more chips!" her friend Anthony shoved the last of the Pringles into his mouth, before rushing off to the kitchen to make more.
The next thing Elona knew, the world tipped, and she was no longer awake.
"Wh-what?!"
Elona woke in an area with a medium amount of trees, a lot of flowers, and the mountains in the distance. It was rather nice, if not for the fact that she had no idea where the heck she was.
Elona slowly stood up, and walked a bit forward, before face-planting. She realized that she was very exhausted, even though she had just fallen asleep.
'Dude," she said, still laying in the grass. She flipped over, and heard a weird sound.
"Where am I?!" she asked, confused and scared out of her mind.
