“Hospital Duties”

New year. New piece of poetry concerning the American Civil War to examine. As the description said on the previous page, I chose another poem that concerns the women’s effort in the American Civil War and potentially extends to their participation in other war efforts. I took this poem from a master list on the Library of Congress that I can link to anyone interested but I prefer to share these one at a time to hopefully spark conversations.

“Hospital Duties” is a bit of a long text and it does have some interesting wording, so you may choose just to focus on one page or on one stanza when evaluating the piece.
