Okay, so it's not very original making a topic like this, nor is it very professional to ask other people to name your novel for you...But it is really bugging me.

So s my story is based around the rather...bewildering...crew of the Red Fox. Any suggestions would be extremely helpful.

Summary: Captain Barbara Mappleton has been cursed with the worst luck possible, not only is his name Barbara, but he has found himself captain of one of the worst crews in pirating history...With his lack of authority and bizarre recruitments, he finds himself in no end of trouble. But will Blackbeard's treasure make it all better?

It's difficult to get a title from other people. If you go on the Nanowrimo forums they have a lot of titling threads. I think its in the plot doctoring section. I don't have title either so...don't feel alone.

I also have a title thread over in writing tips, some people gave ideas there. I usually take something straight from the text, so I'm sure I'll end up doing that again...

Like Claudette, I usually use a phrase or word that pops up in my story, so I'm waiting until after. It seems really weird to me to title your story before you write it, because what if it changes directions while you're writing about it?

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. >_<

Okay! Thanks for that! I think I have something in mind, I'll use it as a provisional title. =)

Thanks again for the assistance.

That makes sense--if you really can't stand to have no title, just make something up and change it later.

Of course, with me, the title would end up sticking and I'd be reluctant to change it, no matter how stupid it was. XD

I have a title for my NaNo already... but only 'cause I keep going over character conversations and things in my head and something that the antagonist said sounded soooo good for a title. So.. yeah, I'd recommend taking stuff from the text.

Try and make it relevant anyway. It can be really annoying if you pick up a book 'cause of its title and then it's nothing to do with the actual story...
