In a nutshell

In a nutshell,
Behind the armour
And the glossy edge,
There is a soft centre.
Many choose to pierce the outer shell
Just to taste the sweet inside.

Although it is a whole
A nut for one word,
The inside often likes to
Detach itself from the rest.
I’ve never understood why.

The nut grows from
A fruitful tree, but of course
(Being a nut of single mind)
It will eventually fall,
(But I say it jumped.)

When the time comes for choosing
Does the nut want to be,
Sweet and enticing
Only to be eaten?
Or does it prefer a bitter edge
Followed by a foul centre?

Will the nut then decide to go back to its tree?
Or will it sit and rot
(If it is a stubborn nut)?
So many choices, so many questions,
But that’s life
In a nutshell.
I hope the weather is calm as you sail up your heavenly stream,
Suspended clear in the sky are the words that we sing in our dreams,
Let there be love.

I LOVED LOVED LOVED two lines in particular. First, "But I say it jumped" and second "If it is a stubborn nut". AMAZING. And this is overall a good poem. Please try to write more like this.
