Village Outshine

For every character that is born, their opposite comes into existence somewhere out there, in another universe...

A yin to the canon's yang, a hot to their cold... you get the picture. They may share an appearance, but similarities end there.

Now, all these inverses, if you will, have found themselves at an apartment complex called Villiage Outshine, where they have a room under their name that contains familiar belongings. The other tenants know them, and all evidence points to them having lived there for several years.

Only one thing is off- they have a distinct feeling that this is the first time they've woken up in this building.

Spoiler
I'm going to use an AU of my character Adeline- this is Lina. She has dark hair cut into a bob, blue eyes, and very pale, freckled skin. She usually wears a holey t-shirt and sweats to run errands, and a bathrobe at home. Since she's a freelance writer, it's not usually necessary for her to leave her house, which she doesn't mind at all. Those who know her have called her pessimistic and grouchy, though she has good work ethic. People, however, make her uncomfortable in general.

Lina finally decided to get out of bed and do something after the fifth time she had to cover her face with a pillow to avoid the sun. With a loud groan, she hefted herself up and crawled out from the nest her comforter had made.

After shoving on some pants, she padded into the kitchenette to make herself some cereal. Something about her apartment chilled her- she just couldn't put her finger on what. Of course she recognized it...or she thought she did, anyway. The only feeling she could compare it to was a heightened sense of walking into a room and forgetting why she walked into it.

Checking the mail- that was something she could be doing. She grabbed her keys (at least she hadn't forgotten where they were) and walked down the hallway. The feeling seemed to follow her as she got onto the elevator and nodded at vaguely familiar people.

When she reached the mailboxes, a sense of dread filled her suddenly. For the life of her, she couldn't remember which number was hers.
