In darkness born
And darkness bred
The mouth that bit
The hand that fed
From dark to light
From day to night
From wrong to right
The world goes on
"....I hold with those who favor fire", Frost

This is quaint, but a bit redundant. I could make the same point in two or three lines. This could be so much better if you expanded it behind rhymes just "light" and "night".
Carpe Diem.
