Introducing! The first poem of thirty in a series I like to call
"I've lost my muse and I don't know what the hell I'm writing, so bare with me.

from ashes, i came
loose form, poor structure
around my neck, string and sign
a warning to those who wish to touch

through fingers, i slide
grains slamming against the hourglass
desperate to break, shatter, fall
spread out, spread far,
gathering myself along the way

along, you came
steady arms, careful hands
piece by piece, put together
by soft lips and deep breaths,
hearts together, frantic beats
that elapse years to come

to dust, i will go
body withered, soul bright
hands forever entwined
finally complete
“I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then."

i tread on thin ice,
balanced, hands to hips,
slow and steady, heel before toe
fingers splashed over rigid wool

frosty kisses are more dangerous than they seem

blind, devoured by darkness
endlessly tracks to trace
careful, now! footsteps glide
among cobwebbed glaze
seeking haven

light blooms; i turn
outstretched
music finds me when i find you
behind is a fractured path,
faint imprints dance around compacted fissures
a path that ends where i end

encased in warmth,
brown tints my dreams
melting, clutched close to fire
hot breath, dazed mind,
slowly, my heart begins to beat

fiery kisses are less dangerous than they seem
“I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then."
- Lewis Carroll

You are going to love some of your characters because they are you, or some facet of you, and you are going to hate some characters for the same reason.
