As of today, November 24, winners can validate their word count on the official NaNoWriMo website.

So tell me:

Did you win? What was your final word count? Or are you, like me, trudging onward to the end of a novel that's coming out much longer than fifty thousand words?

Spoiler
Winners who sound off here before the next issue of Squills is published will get their names published in an NaNoWriMo wrap-up article and win the people's fame and ovation forever.

Done! 50,069 words. Still going but I'm taking a break until after prelims and history dissertation. Also english dissertation. And computing project. Oh Lord the stress...

Still, that's one goal ticked off :D

That's about where I'm at, but I have a bunch more to go until the story is actually finished!

I won NaNo at 50,039 words! :) I saw that I was coming close so I hastily wrote an ending because I'm weird that way. So many subplots left untied...
And passersby who heard his echoing laughter wondered what kind of grief man had to go through before he could laugh so free.

I won Nano at round about 50,242 words. I did it two days before the date at 2am in the morning because I knew the whole weekend would be dedicated to charity work and homework.

Nano was hard to finish this year.

Well done to everyone who participated and especially the winners!

The greatest part of a writer’s time is spent in reading, in order to write; a man will turn over half a library to make one book.
