Just curious. Do they have to apply somehow, or are they recruited?

(And no, I'm not interested in actually BECOMING a Mod, only wondering...)

There is no application for being a JM/GM.

Every so often, the GMs realize we need more hands on deck and so we ask for nominations from current GMs/JMs. The qualifications are somewhat subjective, but we generally look for active, friendly, helpful, and respectful members. If we're looking for JM's in a specific crew (say, Storybooks), activity in that area gets extra weight.

Once we reach a consensus, the unfortunate lucky nominee is offered the position, which they can accept or decline.

I've been curious, as well. Gosh, I'd love to be a Mod someday. Maybe in a few years... *crosses fingers* :smt003

Phahah yeah as if it's as simple as Nite says. She's just too nice to scare you with talks about all the creepy questions one must answer and opponents one must face and tasks one must complete. And not to mention the actual super secret grand finale after which some are never even seen again..

Oh hey but super secret means I'm not supposed to speak of this, right?

Lies. It's gladiatorial combat. To the death.

Yes, we all have scars from this combat. Unfit members did not survive.

Y'all think being a mod is fun and games, with the power to ban and change colors and wreak havoc? Ahaha WRONG.

You don't get paid, you get Sunday off to worship freakforchrist and freakforchrist only, you're forced to clean Bartemis' cage and give him baths and clip his toenails, and DONT GET ME STARTED ON NATHANIEL. Iggy wash my feet, Iggy fold my laundry, Iggy file these papers, Iggy do this IGGY DO THAT IGGY HAVE NO LIFE.

seriously Nate made us sign contracts with our blood, which then caused our souls to leave our bodies and he secured him and now we can't leave pls send for help he doesn't feed us or anything and then we're forced to commit unspeakable things to survive. They want you to believe retired mods are retired but in reality they DIED.

These scars from the gladiatorial combats? They never seem to heal. I'm just a deep dark blue all over.

We do have some cookies there. And jungle gyms. Oh and not to mention, eternal servitude to the overlord.

Yeahh... for some reason, I envisioned a big party for the new mods, and then the assignment to their new chores... After the solemn swearing in, though. Where is their clubhouse? Are they top-scarers?

Mods are so secretive.
