Code
a single silver note prolongs
   a breath withheld
   the slightest of shivers
and a fragment of a shipwrecked night
                                                              hangs
parallel to our own

do you remember how the wind smelled cold
   and clean and free or
do you only remember what i
screamed to your back as you ran
   away

EDIT: I tried to get it so you could see the format that I wanted, and this was the closest I could get. Sorry it looks so ... peculiar ...

I love the language, and the format just complimented that =] Usually I hate it when poet's take a creative format, but I actually enjoyed this. you handled it well without being...annoying or cute, i suppose. or confusing. The poem was beautiful, too, so without the format it would still be very nice. Good job.
