#1. Castaway These

These letters of paper
taped so carelessly to the keys
of a worn smooth keyboard;
Left in the dust
as most things are
in the people's world,
with their words spoken so carelessly,
you can't help but wonder
why they even bother to speak.

#2. Nevermore

Grey skies walk the earth

soundless as

the feather's fall.

They move in slow motion;

Invisible is

their desperation,

as they try to catch the sky's falling tears

and drag our sorrow with them.

Too heavy a burden to keep,

so one would think

they would not have the time,

nor the eyes to see

a long forgotten red ribbon

still dancing in the wind.

#3. Fade

Water droplets on
the rusted window frame
on a 3rd floor apartment
somewhere in Dallas;
Maybe they're there,
maybe they aren't.
But if they do then surely
they know what it's like
to be forgotten.

#4. Space-bar

Sometimes I wonder
what it's like to
walk on glass and
know you're breathing but
you just can't find the words to
speak,
and survive.

#5. This

I speak all too much,
and only you and your words
could ever leave me speechless.

*runs out of time*
Crap.
Well, it was worth a shot.

You can't blame the writer for what the characters say.
