Royals vs Exiles (Open/Not Started)

For many years since the Dark Ages in the world of Paladin, the Royal Broods have been at war with each other. The Blood, Sandune, Changer, and Mystic Broods - royal families which rule and command their respective people - have been at war amongst each other without the regard of secrecy from humans. Eventually, humanity has gone to join this seemingly endless war, but only a certain few who wish for peace have joined together to put this war to an end at last. The Blood Brood was originally ruled by a vampire whose will was of peace and harmony, but another vampire overthrown the king and forced him and his family into hiding. The Sandune Brood is a family of Naga - creatures that are half human and half serpent - and always ruled by an Emperor and his most favorite wife from his harem. The Changer Brood is a family of shapeshifters, ruled by a powerful king who could almost rival the true king of the Blood Brood. The Mystic Brood is a family of witches or warlocks, split in three sub-tribes that are ruled by their respective leaders - the White, Black, and Grey Monarchs.
On the other side of this rather cruel battlefield is the Resistance of Peace - exiles and humans banded together with only one goal in mind: to end this war and restore peace to the earth. This band of unlikely allies want this war to end and return the earth to its former glory, but are aware that some of them may not live to see that moment. Although among the exiles are white witches, vampires who were allies with the true king of the Blood Brood, grey witches, misfit naga, and mistreated shapeshifters, the humans and exiles formed a truce due to their common goal - the desire for peace.
Here is where you stand. Are you a member of one of the Royal Broods - who are at war amongst each other - or are you a member of the Resistance of Peace - the mixed band of unlikely allies whose common goal is to bring peace and harmony back to the earth? Which side are you on? The choice is yours and yours alone. The war has long begun, but only one side of this battlefield can prosper in the end.

The Royal Broods:

The four royal families at war with both each other and the Resistance of Peace. Each is located in different regions of Paladin.
The Blood Brood: a family of vampires who has ruled for countless millennia and existed in secrecy before the war began. The highest rule of this species is the King Fang or King of All Vampires. The true royal family was overthrown by a jealous usurper from the lower class. All vampires have their own unique ability, but only a small few are immune from the light of day while the rest are sensitive to sunlight. Vampires are also capable of physical combat and can feed off human food, but need blood from either animals or humans to survive. This Royal Brood rules the City of Eternal Night in the northern region.
The Sandune Brood: a family of Naga who's been in existance shortly before vampires came to being. All Naga is ruled by the Emperor Cobra and the most favorite wife in his harem. Every Naga can change into a human or a snake. The majority of Naga in the sandy City of Temples - located in the eastern regions where sand and quicksand beds are common - are venomous because of their serpent forms, but others have different ways of survival. Venom is used as a last resort if physical combat - in both human and Naga forms - isn't enough. Like a natural snake, it takes days for a prey - swallowed whole - to be fully digested. However, a Naga can also feed off human food at any given time.
The Changer Brood: Located in the western regions and ruled by the King Shifter in Stealthmate Town, shapeshifters of any kind - with the exception of Naga, unless brought here by marriage - and every class have a place to call home. Depending on the animal form of the shapeshifter, no two shifters have the same species of animal. Eating habits are taken after the animal form as well as dominant instincts if the animal form is used for long periods of time, but human food is recommended to upkeep their human forms. Shapeshifters are also capable of physical combat and immune from magic, but not poison.
The Mystic Brood (Black Sub-tribe): the notorious sub-tribe of the Mystic Brood, located in the southern regions of Paladin and ruled by the Black Monarch in the Town of Nightshade. This Royal Brood specializes in offence, poisons, and physical combat. Also highly notorious for curses.

The Resistance of Peace:

A mixed band of exiles, misfits, and humans who want nothing more than to end the war and bring peace back to the earth. The Resistance headquarters is an underground city known by legend only as the Secret City. Many in this group know their way around the many tunnels that lead in and out of the Secret City. The tunnels give the city its name, so there's no telling how to get there without getting lost by accident. The leader knows the many tunnels like the back of his/her hand, so there's no possible way the leader of this group can get lost.
The Mystic Brood (White Sub-tribe): the good sub-tribe of the Mystic Brood. Ruled by the White Monarch, the strongest witch/warlock of the tribe. Specialize in healing and defense. Also good at physical combat when needed to.
The Mystic Brood (Grey Sub-tribe): the neutral sub-tribe of the Mystic Brood. Ruled by the Grey Monarch, the strongest witch/warlock of the tribe. Specialize in healing, defense, and provoked offence. Also good at physical combat when needed to.
Humans: people who are part witch or part shapeshifter in the family tree. Also excel in melee combat and magic.
Exiles: creatures sentenced to exile by the tyrants of their respective lands, accused of crimes they never committed, or just plain old runaways. Each has their own abilities and also specialize in physical combat.

Name: Fidelis Nemesis

Appearance: Normally bronze skin with black hair and green eyes. Stands five-foot-seven and thin, but not thin enough to be considered bone-thin. When he's angry, he turns moonlight pale with bloodred eyes. His arms are slightly muscled, but strong enough to hold a sword in one hand. He's left-handed in the terms of writing and combat. His sword is on his right hip at all times. During travels with his family, he wears a hooded cloak to keep the sun off his skin.
Personality: In any normal situation, he's as cool as a cucumber and has an air of wisdom about him. Don't let the calm exterior fool you, since he often uses it to attract his prey - which is natural snakes, rats, and the occasional male prisoner (if the leader permits it). Whenever he feels like it, he tends to crack a joke to ease the tension.
Flaws: He has a vile temper that often gets in the way of his judgment. He's also sensitive to the light of day, but not sensitive enough to die in direct sunlight.
Skills/Abilities: Like natural vampires, Fidelis is super-strong for a string-bean-of-a-man like himself. He's also a master swordsman as a physical skill and has the element of fire as a magical ability.
History: Fidelis once was the heir to the White sub-tribe of the Mystic Brood, being the eldest and only son of four children. Since he could walk, he was thoroughly trained to become the next White Monarch. However, it all changed when he was twenty-one years old. He and his sisters were playing alone in the royal garden one night and a vampire abducted Fidelis after killing his sisters in front of him. On the night he was turned, his sire (vampire maker) committed suicide after telling him to kill his parents and relieve himself from their command. Fidelis didn't murder his parents, but the latter disowned him and sent the guards to hunt him down like an animal. Throughout the centuries of being a disgraced heir, he set out to find a place for redemption and wandered the land every night to avoid detection from anyone. After two millennia, seven centuries, nine decades, and two years of solitude, he found himself in the City of Eternal Night where he uncovered his passion for pottery and eventually caught the attention of Delariva who became his mate and queen of the Blood Brood. Shortly after Fidelis wed Deleriva, they had Princess Kira as their heir. The Nemesis family of the Blood Brood once ruled the City of Eternal Night until they were overthrown by a jealous lower classman. Although Fidelis didn't want to give up the throne so easily, he valued his family more than power and was forced into hiding with his family at his side. It wasn't easy for him to gain the trust of the Resistance, but he promised harmony in exchange for an alliance between his family and the Resistance. Fidelis and his family have been in exile for seven years now.
Up for love?: No. The reason behind this is because he's married to Delariva and - due to traditional frame of mind - he intends to remain faithful to her.

Appearance: Jack is a slight muscular man for his age. Muscled arms and a thin waistline combined with milk-white pale skin. He has short red hair - red to the point where it looked like it was blazing - and colbalt blue eyes. The latter tends to turn lighter when he uses water magic.
Personality: Quiet most of the time, but that's to make folks around him believe he's mute or shy. Very respectful to royalty and knows when to speak when spoken to. Under the quiet exterior is a very smart young man. He's not afraid to use his weapon of choice when it's absolutely necessasary.
Flaws: Very defensive of Kira and her parents, sensitive to sound, and often teased about his intelligence. He's also a lousy shot when he's ticked.
Skills/Abilities: Jack is known to be a more hands-on kind of soldier and a master of a pistol, his signature weapon. He keeps spare bullets with him in case he starts to run out of ammo while in combat. He's also a master of healing by water magic as well as a practiced ice user.
History: Jack's from a line of humans on his father's side, but he gets his power over water from his mother - a merchant/travelling healer from the Grey sub-tribe of the Mystic Brood. When Jack was three, his father abandoned him and his mother was forced to raise a child while travelling Paladin. Although Jack had no father figure in his life, he grew to become a strong young man as well as a smart one. When the war among the Royal Broods was made known, he was sixteen and spent two years in the Resistance after his mother died trying to protect him. At eighteen years old, Jack met the rightful royal family of the Blood Brood and fell hard for the princess. He's been in the Resistance for nine years now, but he shares an alliance with Fidelis and his family as their knight.
Up for love?: Nope. He's got his eyes set for King Fidelis' daughter Kira, but doesn't want to show any disrespect towards her parents.

Personality: Delariva is a woman to be respected, she's been though a lot in her life and she knows she's not ready to die yet. Being a former Queen Fang, she stands along side her husband the former King Fang Fidelis, ever faithful in there marriage together as Delariva completes Fidelis perfectly. Where Fidelis is cool, calm, and collected, Delariva is wise, merciful, and temperamental.
Flaws: Easily her biggest flaws are her motherly instincts for her daughter, Kira. And her hard-to-resist blood lust in which the scent of blood is greatly tempting to her, making it very hard to resist in taking a taste for blood.
Skills/special abilities: Delariva is extremely intuitive almost to the point of seemingly psychic, and she is also Empathic, she can feel the emotions of others around and usually uses this on her husband when he's stressed or angry to calm and sooth him.
History: Delariva was on the road to becoming a sex slave when she was sired, in ancient times she was captured and taken before a King who wanted her for her beauty and sex. When she was sired, she gained enough strength to break free and get on the run, fleeing she spent the next a thousand years on the run from the Kingdoms Knights every now and again capturing one and drinking them dry. Eventually though, Delariva met Fidelis in the City of Eternal Night, and though time Delariva won Fidelis' heart, and hers vice versa eventually leading up to her becoming Queen Fang and then her exile.

Present Day: Delariva works with her Husband, humans, and other outcasts to pull off a rebellion against there usurpers. Delariva wasn't tirled when she lost the throne, but with her Husband at her side and Jack protecting there daughter Delariva is confident that with time, she'll return to her throne as Queen Fang with her Husband as King Fang again. And her daughter Kira once more Princess Fang.
Up For Love? No, she's married to Fidelis and is faithful to him.

Personality: Kira is like any other princess, spoiled, snobby, stuck up, and all bark and no bite. She's barely makes any friends, many of them abandon her when she gets into trouble, so she's really isolated aside from her parents and her guardian Jack.
Flaws: Kira doesn't have any fighting skills, and heavily depends on her parents and Jack in a fight. Because of this, she's easily gullible and won't be able to save herself if she gets captured, but she also has her fathers temper and will throw a raging fit much like her father. Despite this, Kira also has points of depression once she begins to think about the fact she has no real friends, but she will often deny this fact.
Skills/special abilities: Kira isn't as intuitive as her mother, but she still has some that makes her seem psychic at times. She's also an Empathetic like her mother, which means that she can sense others emotions around them, finally she can Exomental Projection
History: Soon after Delariva married Fidelis, they had a child, their heir to the throne, Kira. But a few years after Kira was born, jealous lower class man who served her father rebelled and raided the castle, Fidelis thought better and fled his castle before it could be raided with him was his daughter Kira, and his wife Delariva. Eventually Fidelis bent on getting his throne back and placing his family back on top, forged an alliance with the humans. Soon after the alliance, he appointed her Guardian Jack Witchhazel to protect her during the times of war.

Present ay: Kira sits on the sidelines as her parents work to plan a rebellion for the throne and kill all those who stole her title and throne from the family. But little does Kira know, she has as much of a part as her parents do.

Appearance: She is very tall but thin. Due to her long legs, she sometimes find walking generally awkward. Her hair is midback length, straight and is coloured in layers: black at the roots, ginger-blond at the middle, and almost white at the tips. She wears it out or in a braid when she is working. She has big, very dark brown eyes a relatively large nose. She usually wears thigh length shorts and black or yellow tops.

Personality: She is light humoured (usually) and enjoys to lightly joke with people. She is alright at communicating but has frequent doubts about whether people like her not and whether she is good person. She enjoys the challenge of mind problems and knows just about every riddle in existence. She loves to fly and spends as little time as possible in human form. She has a very influential phobia of death and hates being manipulated and used.

Flaws: She is cowardly. No other way to say it. In most situations of danger she would flee.

Skills/special abilities: Basically she has no skills but shapeshifting. Much to her embarrassment the animal she becomes is a Ziti – a small sparrow-like bird. She has no obvious skills in ziti form but don’t underestimate her. She is also good at singing and can repeat back a melody perfectly to you. Other than that she is good at abstract thinking- going outside the square for solution.

History: She was raised by her sister after her parents (both shapeshifters) were killed in the war. She was taught by an old friend of her mother, the skill of the mind rather than of force, as her alternate form did not offer here many fighting tools. Much of her childhood was spent mastering the art of flying.

Then a year ago, her sister ran away to join the rebels. Puiro did not go with her because she believes her sister was brainwashed by them. Puiro became a member of a travelling chorus, using her singing to survive.

Up For Love? Perphaps. She is unsure of her orientation (considers herself straight). Warning she may make a very clingy partner.

Allegiance: Now Mystic Brood, but always and forever her father and her kingdom. (Grey)

Appearance: Beautiful dark thick cappuccino hair that falls past her waist and ebony skin to match. Startling Blood red eyes she has keep covered with her bangs that would stop a person dead in their tracks. She's 6 ft tall and athletically built, (since she's a wolf, she is obviously fit and from walking everywhere). She also has an ugly scar that starts at her temple and end at her jaw line. She also has scars on her wrist from long ago that she keeps covered with wrist bands.(See history.)

Personality: She's very strong and independent. Loyalty and honesty are two things she always goes by. Saiya doesn't beat around the bush, because she'll tell you like it is. To people who don't know, she'll come off as rude, but that's just the way she is. If you've got something to tell her, then say it to her face. She'll certain say it to your face. For the most part, Saiya is a quiet person, her thoughts elsewhere until pulled at attention by someone. She's not one to judge or jump to conclusions. To most she would seem intimidating because of her size and the fact that she almost never smiles, but she loves to laugh.

Flaws: She has a bit of a temper. Never backing down from anything had been known to get her into trouble. The fact that she won't take crap from anybody has landed her into a few sticky situations as well.

Skills/special abilities: Telekinesis and controls water. She also communicate with snakes. She can shift in a black panther.

History: Saiya grew up as the daughter of Hunter, King of the Changer Brood. Her mother died when she was 10. They had both been captured by the enemies and tortured. When her and her mother tried to escape, only Saiya made it out alive. Her father devoted all of his spare to her, teaching her how to defend for herself and provide for herself. She took to the bow and arrow about all others and quickly became one of the best. She and her father became close over the years, forming an unbreakable bond.

After years of being alone, Hunter finally remarried. The woman Hunter married was nothing but retched. From the moment she met Darcie , Saiya couldn't trust her as far as she could throw her, and she was quite the small thing. She also didn't trust Darcie's sun, Rex. He was would watch her with his cold bottomless black eyes. The fact that Saiya was closer to Hunter than Darcie was grated on her.

Hunter always put his daughter first, and Darcie would get between them every chance she got. As time passed, odd incidents began happening around the castle. Things would fall loose, almost crushing her to death, Getting sick from the food Darcie would give her, repeatedly being attacked when she was out doing something. Another thing Darcie couldn't stand about her, was that Saiya would never let her have her way with Hunter (not in a sexual way, but in a controlling way). Saiya would always counter her every move.

One night, while Saiya was sleeping, Darcie came into her room and tried to stick a dagger into her heart, but it's not like she actually succeeded. Darcie and her son were placed in then dungeons, but escaped. While her and her father were out one evening, they were attacked, and she was taken by Darcie. She was tortured for days with no end. Cut, stabbed, whipped, and beaten until she broke, but she never did. To this day she still doesn't know how long she'd been held captive.

Darcie's son came down to have a bit of fun with her, but Saiya wasn't privy to his kind of fun. She'd been working on the chains for the last few days and had finally gotten them undone, but only after rubbing her wrists raw and bleeding from the effort. She killed him and ran for her life only to run head first into Darcie. She told her that her father thought she was dead, and that it would stay that way unless shew wanted her father to die. She said that she had spies placed near her father to keep an eye on him. That's really not what Saiya wanted to hear. Even in her weakened state, she slit Darcie's throat and cut down every person she saw in where ever she was before making her was out of there.

She was so hurt, so angry, so sad, that she cried for what seemed like forever. All she wanted was to go home and have her father wrap her in his arms, to tell her everything would be alright, but now, she may never be able to. That didn't mean she wouldn't try. Once all of her wounds healed, she began traveling, trying to find out what she could about the spies around her father.

She came upon an injured man lying near the dirt road she was traveling and nursed him back to health. He told her about how he was part of the resistance and that they needed a healer such as herself, that she should join them. So she did. The only person who knows of her true identity is the leader of the Brood.

Up For Love? Yes. She's looking for someone to fill her lonely nights. She's straight.

Appearance: Her hair goes to the middle of her back and has tiny beach waves. She has freckles dotting her pale face and has dark green eyes. She is 5'4 and very skinny. She is toned but not super muscular. She always keep her dagger strapped to her thigh.

Personality: She isn't the nicest girl in the world, but only because she speaks her mind. She is hard to gain trust from and doesn't let many people in. She talks, a lot, but she doesn't say the nicest things. She isn't self centered, she has just never had anyone be nice to her.

Flaws: She isn't the best at making friends. She has a long scar that runs up her back from her childhood. Also she burns really easily in the sun from being so pale.

Skills/special abilities: She is a amazing knife thrower and knows how to fight. Indie can shape shift (turns into a cat).

History: Indie was born in the The Changer Brood. Her mother left her father 2 months after Indies birth. Her father often beat her once he started drugs when Indie was 4. She got the scars on her back this way. Indie's father died 3 years later from a overdose and she was forced to live on her own. She lived on the streets and being half cat she was able to hunt and have a small appetite. When she was 13 she was at market and a shooting happened and Indie was blamed. At the scene she was at the weapons stand and was looking at a pistol, so of course they blamed the small 13 year old. They sent her off to Exiles and this will be her 5 year there.

Up For Love?: Sure, its nearly impossible but you can try. Straight. Indie needs someone who can except her for who she is.

Other: She turns into a cat when she is scared. Her cat form is a small brown and white tabby cat.

Hey guys, my schedule has been getting progressively crazier recently, and tomorrow I'm going to start having theater rehearsals almost every day. Adding that to homework and band, I don't think I'm going to have time to start another storybook, so I'm afraid I'm going to have to drop out. I'm really sorry.

Personality: Happy and pleasent to be around when she is around her home but once she is alone she is quiet and reserved and if she is upset she will attack.
Flaws: Her temperment. She is very easily annoyed and angered.
Skills/special abilities: Can turn into a Leopard.
History: As a child, Maria was always silent. She was able to sneak around when she walked normally and was also left alone most of her life. Whenever she was angered she would attack things and people. It got to the point where she accidentally killed one of her maids. She was only 6 when she first transformed into her leopard form. It was soon after that she first went hunting and learned to enjoy killing. She decided when she was 8 that she would learn to become an assassin. As she grew older, her skills in the art of killing became more refined and at the age of 14 she had learned every method of killing and attacking that there was. So she decided that she would learn how to decieve someone and how to lie and be believed. Once she had turned 15, she became an assassin.

About 6'2", well muscled, short brown hair, facial hair that his favorite wife (Evra) convinces him to change often-- but he's rarely shaven. Being king, he has to wear fineries-- at which times, Evra manages to coax him into royal blue robes trimmed in gold. When he's 'off duty', as he refers to the time he's not presiding or in battle, he generally chooses greens, blues, and browns for his tunics, and browns for his trousers-- but the Empress really has the last say in the matter. He'll dress to please her.

He typically has either a sword on his hip or a bow strapped to his back (often both).

Not much to describe. ^That. However, a quirk of his is that he started out a murky gray when he first started shifting, and has progressively gotten darker each time, making him a shiny black. No one really knows whether it's due to age or practice.

Personality: Zynik is a strong man, and an unwavering leader. He demands a lot from his soliders-- strength, endurance, dexterity, loyalty-- but nothing that he doesn't exhibit himself. He never runs, and never flinches, and won't stand by to see himself or Evra insulted. He can be hotheaded and brash, throwing temper tantrums often. The only person who can calm him down-- or survive, for that matter-- during one of his fits is Evra.

Zynik always hated the bueracracy of the throne, and so, shortly after he took it, he implimented the death penalty for most crimes-- curbing the flow of criminals to sentence in a hurry.

If you earn Evra's trust, you'll instantly acquire his--- but that rarely happens. The easier way is to be competent, and stay out of his way. He appreciates sarcasm, but only at the right times-- mostly, he prefers for you to be quiet.

Flaws: Aside from his short temper, he's got no magic in his human form-- though Evra does have wards erected around him at all times. In his Nagra form, his balance is off. In his snake form, he's got a bent left fang that makes it painful for him to inject a lethal amount of venom into a large creature (i.e. German Shepherd size and larger), so he tries not to attack humans in his snake form-- but he can, and he will.

Skills/special abilities: He's an excellent archer. He never misses-- and often pulls off seemingly impossible shots. He's also excellent at hand to hand, and is a skilled swordsman-- though how much is natural, and how much is learned from the hours he spent practicing as a child is unknown, even to him. As a snake, he's extremely fast, and can run down most prey.

History: Zynik, being the eldest son, was given an education befitting the next Emporer Cobra. As a result, he's very smart, but tries to hide it. Hidden intelligence, in his opinion, is his most valuable skill, as he's often underestimated-- even though he's a strategist.

He ignored by his parents as a child-- only winning his father's attention as he went into his teenage years. His father, a master swordsman, taught Zynik as best he could-- and Zynik spent many long hours practicing with the blade and with a bow.

He took the thrown when his father was killed in battle, shortly after his nineteenth birthday. Pressured by his mother, he aquired a largish harem-- him being shocked by the number of girls volunteering for the position-- but never connected with any of the girls until he was 22, and met Evra.

After winning her love, he wed her-- and she easily won him away from his other wives. He rarely visits them, never sleeps with them.

Only, like, less Chinese. She's got dark brown eyes, black hair, pale skin, and a thin but well muscled build. 5'9" tall. She always dresses in dark colors, often black leather, and usually wears a black cloak.

She wears thin katanas on either hip, and often carries a bow.

Again, there's not much to say. She started out a black cobra with gray specks on her-- but the gray specks gradually turned white. Beautiful coloration.

Personality: Cold. She rarely talks to anyone-- and Zynik is the only person she likes talking to (and then it depends on her mood). She enjoys stalking people, hunting them, if you will, and likes thinking up new ways to kill people.

Unlike her husband, she rarely looses control of her temper. Rather, she gets colder and begins planning your execution.

Flaws: She's got no diplomatic skills. Her words are scathing, whether you're a king or a peasant. She'll call things like she sees them, which often causes civil disputes. As a result, Zynik tries to keep her out of the public eye, which suits her fine. She prefers to act as an assassin anyway.

Skills/special abilities: She can communicate with animals, even in her human or Nagra form. She's also able to erect defense wards-- but she has no offensive magic.

History: Evra tends to keep her past hidden, even her husband.

Her earliest memories had her in an orphanage, without even a trace of memory of either parent. Orphanages in that country were rough, with each child, more or less, fighting for their own survival-- only the strongest and the brightest getting training for a 'life' later on.

Evra was one of the strongest, and the brightest, but refused to be domesticated-- especially by a man. So, rather than learn how to keep house, she ran away, and fully fended for herself. Posing as a boy, she got an apprenticeship with one of the former Emporer's spies.

He discovered the truth shortly after she started working with him, but, with nothing better to do, he decided to see how long it'd take to make her cave in an quit. Impressed with her determination, he stopped being so difficult, and began truly training her.

When she was fifteen, and already highly trained, she had a wild streak, and deserted, going to different kingdoms and working as an assassin to anyone who had enough money. She, at the time named Kyka, was labelled a traitor and a bounty was put on her head.

So she changed her look, and her name, to Evra, and continued to hire herself out-- growing to enjoy her work far too much. She returned to her home kingdom when she was a few weeks shy of her 18th birthday, and ran into Zynik, by accident, in a Tavern.

Zynik tried to demand that she wed him. She refused. Their fight quickly escalated from an argument, to shouting, to physical blows. They had an impressive battle, but she barely came out on top-- and snarled that if he wanted to marry her, he'd have to do it the way any other man would-- win her heart.

Rather than put his army out after her, like she expected, he began trying to woo her. Nearly a year later, impressed by his dedication and amused by his attempts, she finally consented to the marriage-- and began working exclusively as his private assassin. She fears what he might do, if he ever found about her and Kyka being the same woman.
