Camp NaNoWriMo is coming, and we have some awesome activities prepared for you guys. NaPos, feel free to join in on the fun. Whether you are a NaNo veteran, or a newbie, you are welcome to join the YWS Camp in all of these awesome activities!
Camp Kick-Off
Join us in chat at 10:00, Sunday, for the NaNoWriMo kick off party! Get ready for some awesome word wars. If anyone reaches 10,000 words before the night is over (6:00 AM CST), I'll personally give them twenty reviews on any works of their choice. Be sure to get here early to talk about your novel, share some tips for getting through April alive, and maybe do some role-playing from your new character's POV!
10:00 PM CST- Official start of the unofficial kick-off party.
10:00-11:45 PM CST- Camp kick off fun! Tell us about your novel, and your process. Share survival tips and shopping lists. Be ready for some POV role-playing!
11:45-11:59 PM CST- Get ready to start writing, and start the first word war! Word wars will happen in fifteen minute intervals with five minute breaks in between.
Campfire Fridays
Join us in chat every Friday at around 10:00 PM CST for Camp Fire Fridays! Share your novel progress, some pep talking, and get your fingers warmed up with some word wars. The first Campfire Friday will include the drawing for the Traveling Shovel of Death! From there, whoever receives the Shovel can pass it on to whoever may need it, or do the drawing the next Friday.
The Traveling Shovel of Death
During the first Campfire Friday, we could will a drawing for who gets the TSoD. After they use it in their plot, or see fit to pass it on, it'll go to another WriMo who uses it in their plot and then passes it on. (If you don't know what the Traveling Shovel of Death is, it's a plot device a lot of us WriMos use to spice up our plot. It provides conflict and carries the story. Basically one of your characters gets a shovel and kills someone with it. It's called the Traveling Shovel of Death because it seems to mystically travel from story to story. It's like the One Ring, but way cooler, and not as stylish.)
Halfway There Party
Meet on April 15 for the Halfway There Party! Race to 25,000 words, or race to more if you've already reached 25,000. Celebrate your novel by posting the first chapter on YWS! Prepare for, as usual, some word warring!
Thank God It's Over!
Meet in chat to talk about your finished manuscript, and where to go from here. Pat yourself on the back, there's no greater feeling than finishing NaNoWriMo. For me, I can't even describe how wonderful it felt to finish my first novel.
That's the plan guys! Share your NaNo experience, tips, or pretty much whatever below. Get ready for the fast paced fun that is to come!
