CCA Pre-College?

Hey guys,

I got a letter from California College of the Arts about a Summer Pre-College program that offered classes for creative writing and a lot of other things (I'm really only concerned with the creative writing part). It's a four week course that would b away from home for me. So, my question was, has anyone ever done this course or something similar and could tell me whether or not this is worth it or recommend a different course? Thanks!

Hm well I can't say I have ever done anything like this before, so my advice is probably not good advice x)

I would be wary if this course requires a hefty fee to participate, sometimes what you get out of a class might not be what you were hoping for so I would research this until you knew you were interested in what they had to offer.

For instance I have gone to events and such that were geared towards those that wanted to study Art at a college level, and left with virtually no new knowledge. The good thing about that was the fact that there was no initial fee, only what I had to pay in transportation to get myself there.

Another pre-college thing I did was I went and paid to participate in a weekend All-Star band, where I got to perform a few pieces and such in front of some university professors. That was both a lot of fun and totally worth the cost.

So I guess the best advice I have is to keep researching this thing to see what it is, but be prepared to have it go either way x) You might like it, you might not, giving it a try might be the only way to find out x)
