Plot:

Humanity on planet Earth holds its breathe and tears in as they watch hundreds, maybe thousands of nuclear missiles sail ominously overhead, flying in every which direction. The vapor trails from the sparkling rockets are illuminated amidst the reddish-orange hue of the sunset, the thunder heads in the distance sit peacefully on the horizon, and the kettle of civilization kisses their precious air for the last time. In just a few heart staggering moments, the rain of hell will wash away the last foot steps of the human race...

A group of friends are recording the finale of their lives, in the event that if any survivors from the future discover their journals. They have grown up with eachother since birth, and treat each other more preciously than their family members. They explain their lives briefly and the last seconds they experience until world destruction. The characters are speaking out on their favorite moments, their regrets, their family, their friends, their first love, ect...

Setting:

The crew of friends are on Fiko Hill, located on the outskirts of their town. They are looking over the emerging lights of the city as the sun sets over the horizon, spilling a yellowish glow. They abandoned their homes and families to stay with each other for the last time, while they wait for the blinding flashes, and the immediate mushroom clouds to follow in every direction.

Characters:

Liam (Male)
Kara (Female)
Andrew (Male)
Jamie (Female)
Lauren (Female)
Chris (Male)

Ideas to think about:

Prom night
Traveling to another country
Favorite food
Favorite sports team
Favorite spot to watch the sunsets
Most humiliating moment
Most terrifying moment
A secret crush on one of the friends

Fortify the walls of casualness...That's what ol' grandma Sarah said...

Writing:

I feel the story should be solemn, but if you would like to spruce the mood up (depending on the character) to a more mellow, maybe happier tone, feel free. Think about what you would do with your last few minutes on Earth.

Rules:

1. Sexual references are fine, but don't go overboard.
2. Keep the profanity to a minimum.
3. Be kind to the others.
4. Be cretative.

Keep in mind that if you are writing a journal entry, it is only one last entry, so you would not be continuing to write off of the previous entries, like in a traditional story book (at least in YWS).

Appearance (picture too, please): 6'3", broad shoulders, dark hair that's buzzed on top. Traits: Clever, strong-minded, and very courageous. Chris doesn't like to be told what to do if he disagress with it morally. Chris is physically strong, and agile as well. He is an all-around good athlete, and constantly tries to fight a mole on his back.

Brief Description: Chris is the type of person who doesn't open up right away, but if there is that certain spark, then he will open up like a book. His friends help him show his truly kind-nature, even though when he was a child, he didn't really like girls, or any one who wasn't true to themselves. Chris was sort of the 'ladies-man' in high school, but falls for a girl named Sarah in high school, who was a shy, sort of unwanted girl for the most part. He never asks her out on any dates, even though his friends told him he should have countless times. He lives with his father and mother, with no siblings, and loves to do outdoor activities, play drums, and go on spontaneous adventures. Chris also intertwines most of his thoughts in the form of poetry. When the fallout started in China, his poetry was the only way to help him breach insanity. The apocalypse has now grown old to him, and he is ready to end it all with his five closest friends.
