In the Third Age of Flight, phraxships plow across the skies of the Edge, and phraxweapons abound, but this world is still as dangerous and full of intrigue as it ever has been.
In the mighty city of Great Glade, sky pirates have sprung back into existence, and with their phrax-powered machinery, they're more wily and successful than ever before. They patrol the skies, fighting the New Leagues of the goblin city of Hive, plying a lucrative trade of timber and other goods, and always ready for a fight. The New Leagues and the sky pirates have a delicate balance: the pirates can be invaluable if the Leagues attract unwanted attention in their nefarious dealings, and the Leagues also have enough power to make life very difficult for anyone caught helping a pirate without their permission. Tensions are building, but, as of yet, have not come to anything.
However, something is brewing that will utterly destroy this carefully maintained relationship: In Riverrise, the City of Night, the waifs have been making something, something terrible. Beyond their dark city, using a mixture of the Waters of Life from the Riverrise spring and stormphrax, they have built a weapon of terrible magnitude. A weapon that they can use to take over the entire Edgeworld. And they will use it, at any cost.

As the strained relationship between the New Leagues and the sky pirates reaches a breaking point, two phraxships, one pirate, and one league, are blown over the treacherous Night Woods into Riverrise, and unwittingly discover the waifs' plans. They are the only ones who know of the coming attack. They are the only ones who can stop it. If they don't, a war like no other will be let loose.

Okay, if you've never read the Edge Chronicles, then don't worry! I'll explain everything below...

First, the races. On the Edge, there are some main groups: Goblins, trolls, trogs, waifs, shrykes, and fourthlings. Below is a description of each.

Goblins: There are virtually infinite varieties of goblins (flathead, hammerhead, webfoot, long-hair, and mottled, to name a few). The main features that they all possess are sharp teeth, and large-ish ears. Some are very war-like, and some are peaceful.

Trolls: Trolls are also extremely diverse, although not as much so as goblins. Woodtrolls, gabtrolls, and lugtrolls are the most common. Woodtrolls are excellent woodsmen, and are stocky, with curly hair, and wide features. Gabtrolls are squat and have long eyestalks that they constantly lick to keep moist. They are amazing apothecaires. Lugtrolls are also very squat, with large, lumpy faces. They are very strong, and often "lug" things, hence the name.

Trogs: Trogs are huge, with sometimes brutish features, but can be excellent individuals, when given the chance. They are strong fighters, and they can be brutal. They are favored workers in all types of industry, and are found all over the Edge. Cloddertrogs are the most commonly found.

Waifs: Waifs are tiny creatures, spindly and delicate. They come from the Night Woods, where sight is limited, so they have a huge distinguishing feature: their ears are gigantic. They can hear anything and everything, including thoughts. Because of this, they are not to be messed with. Not all of the waifs are trying to take over. In fact, the majority aren't. There are various types, but they're not that different.

Shrykes: These are vicious bird creatures who live in matriarchal societies, with the female being much more powerfully built than the male. They are, for the most part, warriors, but some have become successful in the bar business, and often do deals with both sky pirates and the New Leagues.

Fourthlings: Fourthlings are essentially humans. They have ancestors from all of the other races, and all of them look different, depending.

Phraxships are powered by stormphrax, which is solidified lightening. This substance is extremely volatile and can only be used in certain conditions. It is also one of the main aspects of the waifs' weapon.

The sky pirates and the New Leagues: Sky pirates are just what you would imagine, rag tag groups of people who steal and plunder for a living. The New Leagues are the traders who control all commerce with an iron fist, and are extremely corrupt.

As for the rest of the Edge, there are three main cities: Great Glade, Hive, and Riverrise, or the City of Night. The are spaced far apart in the endless Deepwoods, a forest of endless beauty and danger.

Whew! That was a lot of info, but here's the character template! You can have a character from the Leagueship or the Pirate ship, but lets keep it even, folks! I'll play the mastermind of the waif plan, and the captain of the sky pirate ship. You can have two characters.

I honestly have never read the Edge Cronicles, and I honestly don't care to, I love to pirate, and I love to open fire on some corrupt and shady business men. Infamous Captain de Frieze will show what it means to be sky pirate! *Reserving a spot will use this as the profile post for later.*
An angel, a knight, a man who will bring light to where there is only darkness, I am the Morning Star, the Bringer of Light, hail to me as I am King Lucifer!

Also, my characters...

Name: Isticulus Gallistix, called Stic

Race: Waif

Age: 17

Appearance: Like all waifs, Stic is tiny, which make his huge ears the most obvious thing about him. He has refined hearing, even for a waif, but he is always polite and tries to keep out of other people's minds. He has bright blue eyes, and dark skin. He usually wears a typical pirate coat, and always has his sword and phraxpistol at hand.

Personality: Unlike most waifs, who keep to themselves, Stic isn't sullen. He's almost always cheerful, and loves to be with friends and his crew. Fiercely protective of both friends and his phraxship, the Foglifter, Stic is also not one to get in a fight with. He can use his hearing abilities to predict any move an opponent makes, and has yet to lose a fight. He's always fair, though, and never kills unless he has to. He has no love of the New Leagues.

Profession: Captain of the sky pirate ship Foglifter, the youngest, and only waif to ever captain a sky pirate ship.

Background: Stic left the City of Night when he was a young boy. He wasn't orphaned, but his parents were strict and stuck with old waif ways. They hated any outsider, which Stic resented. So he ran off to Great Glade, and found himself on a pirate ship.

Secrets: Stic is an insomniac, because he can't get the incessant noise of everyone's thought out of his head. He also secretly trained as a League assassin, but, after getting insulted by one of the Leaguesmasters, he left. He holds a grudge still and can't wait for the day when he can kill the Leaguesmaster.

Other: Up for love.

***************
>>>Here's the mastermind of the waif plot<<<

Name: Thaxforth Ereall

Race: Waif

Age: No one knows

Appearance: He's old, that's for sure. He's got super light skin, and completely black eyes. His ears are huge, bat-like, and hear everything. He always wears a hooded cloak, which conceals his dart-pipe.

Personality: Bad-tempered. Not someone you want to cross. He's exceptionally clever, though, which is why he is leading the waifs on their dominion mission.

Profession: A politician of Riverrise.

Background: He was abused as a child, orphaned, and ridiculed by his adoptive family of flathead goblins. So he killed them all, and disappeared for many years before reappearing, successful and full of wrath.

Secrets: Many, the most prominent of which involving his dominion plans and an illegal stormphrax trade.

Other: Nothing you need to know...yet.
And remember...A portkey can be any sort of harmless object...A football...or a dolphin.

Name: Amarthanor "Amar" Thamben

Race: Fourthling

Age: 19

Appearance: Spiky blond hair, silver eyes, large pointed ears inherited from his waif ancestry, stocky build, 6"1 feet tall. Amar has a tattoo of a pirate's ship on his upper left arm.

Personality: Amar's confidence is more on the level of cocky. He strives to be the best in everything that he does and won't hesitate to let people know he's number one. He values strength and honor above everything else and will fight to the death for what he thinks is right. Though he's cocky, he is very loyal and knows who holds the utmost authority and is not one to try and challenge the obvious leader. He's great at doing the job handed to him and will do it with a smile.

Profession: Sky Pirate

Background: Amar was snuck to a ship as a small boy, his poor family no longer able to take care of him. He was found by the cook in the grain supply and the cook took an immediate liking to him. He pleaded for the Captain to keep him on the ship and when he agreed he immediately started training him. Before long the other crew members aided in Amarthanor's training and, with all the extra help and natural sea legs, he became a great swordsman.

When Amar turned eleven he went off to pursue a better future as a swordsman, away from the crew that treated him like a son and therefor did not let him in on major battles. He found Captain Gallistix's ship and immediately requested admission.

Secrets: Amarthanor's greatest secret is best kept hidden.

Other: Up for love.

Thanks!

Name: Sora Piccolo

Race: Shryke

Age: 17

Appearance: She is a small, slightly built shryke, standing only at about 5'4'' with the plumage similar to a Galah Cockatoo with outer feathers of stone grey and chest and tail feathers of rose pink. Her plumage is thin and wispy and she is much smaller than her sisters. Her armor is much more suppressed in color and size and is limited to thin grey chest plates and a durable grey cloak. She has a sharpened yellow beak and fierce golden eyes and carries a long silver spear.

Personality: She has a very strong willed and vibrant personality but is not a born leader and has trouble making decisions for herself and others. However, she has very solid opinions and standards regarding morals and general decency which she will never violate. She appreciates a sense of camaraderie and enjoys a balance of socialization and solitude. She is a deep thinker and often gets lost in her thoughts and she usually tends to focus on details as opposed to the big picture. She is extremely tough and a worthy opponent both physically and mentally, though she does tend to underestimate herself. She is a good communicator though many are hesitant to trust her at first.

Profession: Sky Pirate

Background: Born to an influencial Shryke in the Eastern Roost she had very high expectations as an egg. However, though she hatched before the others in the nest, she was the runt of the brood and was expected to be killed by another more capable hatchling during their struggle for dominance. However, she was clever and managed to escape the initial fray and the Eastern Roost altogether. She grew up alone, teaching herself fighting techniques in case she ever had to return to Eastern Roost. She travelled between cities, learning the land and hiring herself out as a mercenary. However, due to her small stature, she was more often than not rejected and desperation caused her to join the sky pirates. Her ability to fly, her knowledge of the sky and the surrounding area, and her combat abilities legitimized her and she became a very capable and trusted member of the crew.

Secrets: She has extremely violent fits of anger when she experiences extreme anxiety or anger which turns her into an unreasonable and powerful killing machine. The captain is the only one who knows and while he understands what happens when she suddenly disappears for an hour without notice, a combination of her being in the wrong place at the wrong time could set her off and create mass chaos and destruction.

Other: Up for love.
