I wrote this when I was in fourth grade. I'm not too proud of it, just wanted to know what you think of it.

I wake up
Trees surround
Light filtered by
The leaves.

I walk around
Black trail
Dragging upon the ground
In the chill of winter.

It is utterly silent
In this cruel land
Utterly silent
In the abyss.

I turn my head
And stare out with
Forbidding blue eys
a chill colder than winter.

No one is there
No one roams the earth
No one there to challenge
No one sitting on their hearth.

My heart crumbles
It breaks to be so alone
My eyes dull and the
Light is diminishing.

El Carion!
The world is dead
El Diminy
The world is gone.

I cast my eyes downward
And the wind howls
And laments the end
The end of time.

It is the end of time
The end of love
The end of knowledge
The end of the world.

I collapse and
Despair
For despair has
Dominated the world.

What is hope
But a fond memory and
What is love
But a lost thought?

Alas the world is
Gone, succumed to
Lamentations and
Despair.

I stand up tall
A cold horror enters
My grieving mind and
Dominates it.

I am a queen
Beautiful and terrible
Heartless and cold
A grieving soul.

And I laugh
A mirthless sound
It echoes with
No reply.

Alas I am alone
Utterly alone
Clinging to life
Because a queen does not
Die.

you were just as a disturbing 4th grader as i was! i wrote poem about charred, black burning bodies. fun fun. but i must admit that this shows signs of like, literary prodigy or something if you were really that young when you wrote it. the wording is beautiful, the meaning is strong and easily expressed - it just has the same dry, desolate feeling all the way through, though, which makes it repetitive and boring in some parts. but over all, i didn't find it so bad.
Carpe Diem.
