Masterchef The World

This SB is all about Masterchef.
You are a Masterchef contestant.
You have just been chosen in the top 24 for the very first 'Masterchef World'. 
This is just like Masterchef US, Masterchef UK, Masterchef Australia and Masterchef New Zealand, only this...is for the whole world!

Plot:

You were one of millions and millions of amateur cooks to apply Masterchef World. You have made it to the top 24. 24 people, all from a different country. You live in the Masterchef house, close to the Masterchef kitchen. Each day it is up and early to film and cook. You are faced with challenged and pressure and exhilaration and fun and food and skill. The other twenty three contestants are all terrific cooks, can you win? Masterchef World is based in New York. Each year, Masterchef World is held in the country were the previous winner is from. Seeming as this is the first one, it is held in New York.  
Who will be crowned the world's, first Masterchef?

Firstly, I am from Australia, therefore, the Masterchef rules will be as Masterchef Australia rules are. Masterchef 2012 is well underway down under but I know Masterchef US is just beginning (I know people). You may be wondering how I determine who wins. Once we have enough people I will determine who wins and in what order contestants are eliminated.  Two people go home a week, but writing a week will take about two weeks.

Name: Luke Masters
Age: 36
Gender: Male
Country of Origin: US
Appearance: Luke has sandy blonde hair and bushy eyebrows. His jaw is firm and has a few to many chins for comfort. He is chubby, as you would expect from a food judge, and has weak build. He usually wears whatever his stylists pull out of the closet. His hair is usually Elvis Presley style.
Personality: He is fun and easygoing to be around but hard on people who cook food as he loves it so much. He has been known to be shy around attractive girls and has low self-asteem
History: He decided he would be a cook the first time he sat down and stuffed his face with KFC. He hungered for the knowledge of the secret herbs and spices and started experimenting with food. When he reached a age where he was a bit more reasonable he decided to study food a bit harder and become a proper cook. His signature dish is Butterfly breast of chicken with gently roasted vegetables and wedges.
Strengths/WeaknessesIs not easily pulled over by the contestants sadness of what they cooked. Always remains professional no matter what. His weaknesses include: shyness around attractive women and seeing bad food!
Like to Cook/Dislikes to Cook: He likes to cook Breakfasts, dinners and desserts.

Name: Silvia Valenti
Age: 26
Gender: Female
Country of Origin: Italy
Appearance: Silvia is about average height, with a strong build. She has long black hair, usually tied in a ponytail, and dark gray eyes. Her face is pale and angular, and is usually set in a blank mask. She typically wears khaki pants and some sort of t-shirt under her apron.
Personality: Silvia is friendly once you get to know her, but she can seem severe at first glance. She's very focused, and she takes her work seriously. When she's cooking, she can be intense and rather short-tempered. She's the type of person who will knock others out of the way to get to whatever ingredients she needs. Outside the kitchen, she's more pleasant. She loves eating, and will become friends with anyone who shows her a good restaurant.
History: Silvia grew up in Naples. Her parents owned a bakery, and she helped them there throughout her childhood. As a teenager, she began experimenting with any extra ingredients her parents would give her. She went to culinary school, and she hopes to start a restaurant soon. She draws most of the inspiration for her dishes from her childhood. Her signature dish is a traditional Italian pizza.
Strengths/Weaknesses Silvia is creative and resourceful, and can make up recipes on the spot. She has a temper, though, and she tends to hold a grudge.
Like to Cook/Dislikes to Cook: Silvia likes to cook pizza, and desserts. She doesn't like breakfast as much.
