This is a rough basis of a book I've been thinking of doing. I wanted to get some ideas, see if worked, that sort of thing. Hope it's popular!

Backstory:

In the distant land of Nogranna, terrifying beasts roam the wilderness that lies east of D'Amas - the capital city. These beasts come from the plane of Chaos, the anti-matter of our world. Some are small, some large. Some are terrifying, others deceptively un-terrifying. All, however, are bent on killing and destroying: be it through magical or physical means.
The Council of Five has decided enough is enough and are sending a small group of warriors to defeat and document the more dangerous creatures that plague the land. You are one of these warriors.

I don't want someone who's had an arm taken off by a slavering 20ft demon to say "Gosh". Similarly, I don't want someone described as serious and conservative to curse like a sailor. Find the middle ground people.

Romance: Ugh, if you must. Kidding, I don't mind. But don't turn it into porn.

History: The Head of the Mage School, Mercurio has been asked to lead the group in its efforts. He is also in charge of documenting the monsters they encounter, so won’t always be engaged in fighting. His proficiency in Magica is due to decades of study, as is his intelligence. Can wield a sword with some skill, but not much. Has never picked up a bow in his life, never mind use one.

Personality: A stern, fatherly figure to the group, Mercurio keeps his distance to maintain his role as the leader. Listens carefully to his team pertaining to any suggestions, but leaves no doubt that he is in charge. Quiet and reflective, preferring to work on his bestiarium vocabulum rather than socialise. Proud and stubborn, as an old man should be.

Other: Likes a good strong ale.
