I don't know if other people are like this, but my writing style changes depending on what book I'm currently reading.
examples-
If I'm reading Twilight or Vampire Diaries at the moment, my writing becomes cliche-ish and more teenie bopper. My male characters start becoming Gary Sue's.
If I'm reading Harry Potter at the moment, my dialect becomes more "fancy" and my sound more whimsical and I guess you could say "magical.
If I'm reading Gone With the Wind at the moment (which I really am) my dialogue becomes more "Southern" and my words more old fashioned.
Do any of y'all get what I'm saying?
So far I'm okay with it, because I love all the books I used as examples (minus Twilight) and I'm not truly copying the authors. 'm just afraid when the urge to write strikes me I'll be reading some crappy book.
I'm easily persuaded

Haha, I know exactly what you mean. An unnamed "book" of mine was a complete rip-off of another unnamed book, because of the style and the *sigh* plot. But I wrote it like five years ago when that was more of a problem for me anyway. I don't think I do this anymore, although in order to find out, I should probably write sometimes.

Really? There are one or two books that I've read that have had a big impact on my style, but it's only those few books that have changed anything, not every book I read.
I have noticed that sometimes my plots will change depending on what books I'm reading, though. If I'm reading a dark book, chances are my own stories are going to get darker too. And if I read about a character that has a trait that I think is really cool or unusual, one of my own characters might get that trait.
*Sigh* Now I feel totally unoriginal. -
Happens to me all the time. To the point I can't read fiction while writing fiction. My style, tone, plot and characters get influenced by what I read to the point of losing the story. Haven't read a fiction book cover to cover in months for this reason.
