so... i'm really looking for more of a suspense film. I can't ever figure out a good plot, and the reason for why the bad guy is doing what he is. So any suggestions would be appreciated.

How much do you have figured out? You said you don't have a reason for the bad guy doing what he does; what exactly is it that he's doing? Is it a slasher movie? Revenge? Is he just crazy or is he justified? Generally it's could to have an idea first, then decide how you're going to write. Choosing the genre and format before you even have a basic plot concept can be pretty difficult.
