Main Purpose?

  1. Theme: Acceptance

Throughout the story, my characters learn that the people they want to accept them don't always do so, and the people you least expect to accept you, sometimes do. That's my big theme. You may not always be accepted in your 'society', but that's no reason to change who you are.

Hmmm...I think I like that theme...:)

  2. my story is about a 16 year old that moves to maine, she meet a vampire in the woods in the way way back of her property. He is perfect, yes he talks funny but hey he is gorgeous and totally entrhawled that Christine is hte firs thuman not to come running with the fire and steaks. She thinks that the realationship (though pretty much based on physcal appearence and lust on her part) is going perfectly and new guy steps into the picture. Rei, her best friend, ever. when he and her start realising that they are faling in love then she needs to choose between nathan and rei. Human and the shark filled world of vampires and the night. But when nathan find out about rei and get a bit possesive and protective of his christine. I want. . .well I am not going to tell you, but I dont know really what will happen. If rei will die or if nathan will or if nathan will realise that he has to let her go.
  3. Theme: My main character is constantly disappointed by others because of her high expectations/standards for them and herself.
Eventually she will crash and burn.
  4. Family - Ev will do anything to save her family.

Their are more, but that seems to be the underlining theme of everyone's actions, as of right now. =]
  5. Love-if someone really loves you they'll accept who you are and let you grow

Endurance-No matter what happens keep fighting for what you believe in
  6. Duality, balancing things to create happy mediums, the transience of beauty, and MECHANICAL BIRDIES!
  7. Well...my story's only the barest of bare bones right now, but I've sketched down enough to figure out the overarching themes, at least.

Theme: Isolationism vs. Internationalism (of sorts)
The main antagonist wants to keep the main planet the action takes place on isolated from the main coalition of planets. He basically wants to live a nostalgic myth rather than face reality. The main characters oppose this attitude, and believe (or come to believe) that the best choice is not isolation from the main coalition but becoming active members of it.

    Theme: Deceit
Over the course of the story, the heroes discover that many characters--not just the antagonists, but even each other--have been keeping important things secret. The characters have to deal with all the deceit and duplicity, and the broken trust that goes along with that. Basically, the questions I want to raise are is it okay to deceive people in the name of a greater cause?

    Theme: Friendship & Love
I figure that every story has to involve these on some level, and this story's no exception. Close friendships motivate many characters, and quite a few unlikely friendships--and romantic couplings--are formed. The friendship & love theme also intersects with deceit, especially when duplicity threatens budding relationships and friendships (this isn't even making sense...). Also, family love is an important theme in the story too.
  8. My story's just starting to hatch but if I had to say themes...

    1. The condition of what it truly means to be human. Is it just enough to say that since a person is phyiscally human they're human? Or is it the deeper things that count, like veing able to cry, being creative, being able to love someone with all their heart? All of my major chars. will question this regardless of their races {1 dhamphir, 1 human, 2 vampire blue bloods} due to the fact that their one unifying dream of joining an eltie military branch against "all threats foregin or domestic" turns out to be something all 4 don't want; genocide of socitey's outcasts.

    2. Power courrpts but absolute power courrpts absolutly.
  9. Yay, theme! This is something I've thought about.
My theme is basically: Money vs. Love.
Love is sort of a broad term for it, meaning friendship, romantic love, parental love. It's sort of the same as "You can't buy happiness." My main character, in case you haven't noticed, is pretty materialistic, and she eventually learns that her obsession with money was, well, freaky and wrong.
  10. so, this is just a novel I'm writing for self satisfaction.
Theme: The struggle between survival, the past and love.
Well, this is mnore like an alter-ego, the strong main character that accomplishes everything, she's a survivor and her only struggle in life is to get through the day and live the present. But how does love affect the actual perception of the world of my MC? Love can change things, but when things are a habit now, a deep habit on the people, will love be that strong to change things?
  11. *scowls* Themes are hard. Snoink, you're mean. :D

My story's theme is about being "special," and about some people's messed-up perceptions of what that really means. The four Chosen children are of course thrilled at first to be set apart from their peers (they're kids, of course, and pretty dang self-centered,) but eventually they learn, one by one, that being legendary heroes isn't the funnest thing in the world.

Another theme is protecting the innocent and standing up to the authorities oppressing them.
  12. My theme is overcoming past issues and accepting everyone the way they are in order for all to find peace of mind. One of my main characters accomplishes this while the other doesn't, goes insane and eventually dies.
  13. Theme....

    Murder of the innocent
    Deception
    Sins
  14. My novel Fleirzon centers on the imperfection of human nature, and the capacity for forgiveness and adaptation, even in the face of great odds.

and patience...that things will work out in the end whether or not it seems like it, that people can make mistakes, and that acceptance and hope are central to surviving in life.

That people can make a difference, in their own lives.
  15. Well, this is hard.
My main theme, I think, would be love because the whole story follows my MCs relationship apart from everything else. The love theme is always there. It also deals a lot with other sorts of human relationships and stuff like that from the view of my MC that is a teenager.
I'm not sure what I want to convey with all this, though :D

This is a message to all you out there. You don't have to be the fastest writer. You don't have to write 2000 words in one sitting. But if you put your mind to it and really love your project, you can and will get further along than you ever thought possible.
