What's your favorite medieval text you've read so far and why? Both scholarly texts on anything medieval, and the texts themselves!
My absolute favorite to read in the original, mostly because it's still a huge challenge at points, would be Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; my favorite to read just to read, however, would probably be The Travels of Sir John Mandeville, especially the second half.

I love the Canterbury Tales. Mainly the Wife of Baths tale.

I adore Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. It's always been my most favorite Arthurian legend.

Ooooh! I really like Lancelot: The Knight of the Cart by Chretien de Troyes. Mostly because Lancelot is so hilariously single-minded.
