Who is your favorite Avatar character and why?
Mine is Zuko. He's just so lovable and he went through a great redemption arc. And firebending is the best kind, so theres that too.

Iron has always been my favorite. He has such a perfect balance of humor and wisdom and I've never been frustrated with him. He set Zuko on his way to redemption, too, which was so important for the show to succeed.

my favorite is Toph, hands down. she's just so AWESOME! a billion generations and she was the first one to figure out metalbending. she can also be nice (when she wants to). i also like Iroh, for many of the same reasons @RavenLord does. he also has such a great backstory. he was there when team Avatar needed him most. he's also very funny

It's constant battle between these three-
Zuko: I love his 'lord emo' personality. I have no idea why, but that one scene where he was in his private bunker sitting in front of that set of candles trying to concentrate, but failing, really endeared me to him.What? I have a thing for 'edgelord' characters like Zuko. And of course there was the episode where we learn about his back story.
That was a move of pure genius on the part of the scriptwriters and made me a pure Zuko fan. Aside from that, I feel like he was exactly what Aang needed-a tough fiery (pun intended rip) mentor who cuts him no slack whatsoever.
Toph: She's just so me. Period. I see (and yes, I know that she's blind) a lot of myself in her. Plus, you have to admit, Avatar or no Avatar, she truly is the greatest bender before or since.
Aang: Once again, I see a lot of myself in this character. Also, that episode where we find out how he ended up trapped under ice really endeared me to him. And of course, that one episode where he finds out the entire Air Temples have been destroyed.Show me a character while their an emotional wreck, and you've got a undying fangirl is what I'm saying. -
If I had to choose it would be Toph. A lot of my friends say if I was any ATLA character I'd be her and I agree. Also I love her blind jokes and nicknames. I call my friend "twinkle toes" and he's calls me "blind bandit" so it fits.

Gonna break this down into two simple categories for me answer.
My favorite male character, hands down is Zuko. I love watching his arc grow and develop through the show. Watching him struggle with the decisions he makes and then ultimately earn his redemption. It makes him one of the most realistic and relatable characters. Besides that, he's a fire bender and I simply love fire.
My favorite female character on the show, again hands down, its Toph. Toph is a strong female character who, despite being blind and thought by many to be weak, proved herself to be the greatest earthbender of all time. I also love the nicknames she gives to people, cause who wouldn't
