pebble's poetic ponderings

2 posts in this topic.

  1. I've decided to make a new thread in here as I feel my poetry has greatly improved since I made my first thread back in 2023. I also plan on being much more active in this club and wanted a fresh start :)

  2. poem for the 5/29/26 prompt
blueberries, watermelon, lemons, a handful of strawberries, and the summer sun bright in your eyes

    It All Blends Together
Sun splashes into eyes full of memories
Like past selves tiny in backyard kiddie pools
So big with the full-world feeling
Like water guns and watermelon slices could solve anything
Round the bend, blue sky brims wide
    Dripping down invisible, imperceptibly
Old horizons blocked by jutting mountains
New concrete buildings cover strawberry patches
But you can remember, take a handful, bite into it
Juice stings, streams down your chin
Like pink lemonade stands, every summer
Citrus washes away tears, here's the blue in your eyes
    Reflecting ocean, pool, atmosphere over
Like cartons of blueberries lining the counter
    In grandparents' kitchen now nonexistent
Forget that and watch these clouds, again
