  1. Just goes to show it's never too late to start ;)
  2. My goal is to complete 30 poems! And hopefully maintain good quality throughout.

Roadblocks that I see is the potential business of this month! Half of my friends and families seem to be Aries/Taurses and so there are a lot of birthdays, a lot of work events, and a lot of late night things I'll be involved in but hopefully getting up early everyday in the morning and getting my poem in will help me overcome that ;)

    Among Women by MARIE PONSOT

    What women wander?
    Not many. All. A few.
    Most would, now & then,
    & no wonder.

    Käthe Kollwitz by Muriel Rukeyser

    Held between wars
    my lifetime
among wars, the big hands of the world of death
    my lifetime
    listens to yours.

    The Couple by Mark Rudman

    1

The woman stands on tiptoe to kiss the man and for a moment,
with their twin-teal backpacks, parkas, and other gear—
they look like one new creature. A mutation.

The Sanitarium Window by Leland James

A small stand of trees, unremarkable.
    I don't know their names.
They're like a knot of folks waiting
for a train, or for a store to open
    —a gathering, that's all. They don't
seem to know each other. They didn't
plan to be together there in a field of weeds.

    Avocado Lake by Gary Soto

A body moves under the dark lake-
The throat is a tube of water, the hands
Are those of a child reaching for his mother.
It may be hours before the body rises
    To the surface.

    2 - friendship
    Spoiler
With a spouse, parent, employer, teacher relationship - everything is defined. There are rules. There is paperwork. Syllabuses. But a friend - that is the only relationship we have which is unrestrained! And perhaps it is this quality that keeps it free

    3 - existentialism
    Spoiler

Am I really just the collection of ideas and impressions that others have of me?

    4 - tragecomedy
    5 - bitttersweet

Maybe what most people wanted wasn't immortality and fame, but the reassurance that their existence had meant something. No matter how long... or how brief. Maybe being eternal meant becoming a story worth telling.
