“Gargle at your service,” the gnome bowed. Then he paused. “Actually, I take that back. Gargle is at no one’s service but his own.” The gnome frowned confusedly. “I’m not quite sure about the grammar of that last statement, but anyhoo, my name’s Gargle.”

"Gargle's a funny name," Nork giggled. "How bout the biggun? A troll, en't he? Got a big, strong name, I bet. You trolls are so proud."

Slightly offended, Gargle answered, “Gargle’s no funnier a name than Nork is. And the troll’s name is Iorek; so far he’s been a good companion on my travels. Besides, is being proud such a bad thing?”
